Wireless DMX system
03.E12100 ANTENNA DMX FLEX TRX IP20
ANTENNA FLEX is a new generation wireless DMX system which employs the W-DMX
technology.
ANTENNA FLEX system is also available with IP65 protection rate:
ANTENNA DMX FLEX TRX IP65 (D.T.S. code: 03.E12101)
ANTENNA FLEX is a compact, plug and play device, easy to set up and use.
ANTENNA FLEX represents a true innovation in comparison with other wireless DMX systems,
because it employs the adaptive FHSS standard instead of the commonly used W-LAN
standard.
The W-LAN standard uses fixed channels without hopping, so it has a much bigger risk
for interference from other competing local wireless networks.
The FHSS standard instead uses 83 discrete frequency channels, checking every
millisecond for interference free transmission.
ANTENNA FLEX can be used as a Transmitter (in standard configuration can transmit data to 512
DMX channels) or Receiver (receives data transmitted over 512 DMX channels).
ANTENNA FLEX in Transmit mode (TX) can be used either for multi-cast or point-to-point
transmission.
* In Multi-cast each fixture has a dedicated ANTENNA Receiver: this configuration is particularly
useful when you want to control many units totally wireless.
* Point-to-point is ideal when you have to bridge a long distance from the console to the first
fixture of a lighting system, which is connected to the other units by standard DMX cables.
Electrical specifications: Input 90V AC-250V AC 50-60 Hz (Max: 1A at 115V AC-0,5A at 230V

Switching FLEX modes
The FLEX mode determinates if the unit is used in Transmit Mode (TX) or Receive Mode (RX).
To switch the FLEX mode, proceed as follows:
1- Disconnect the power cable
2- Press and hold the Function button (yellow colour) on the front panel
3- Reconnect the power cable
4- Release the function button
The mode is switched. The LEDs indicate the current mode: either TX or RX.
Operation as a transmitter: the unit is in Transmit Mode (TX), working as a transmitter.
Operation as a receiver: the unit is in Receive Mode (RX), working as a receiver.

Operating instructions
Logging ON a receiver
To log on the ANTENNA FLEX receivers in the system simply press and quickly release the
function button on the transmitter.
The LINK green light on transmitter will start flashing rapidly scanning for new free receivers.
When a receiver logs on to the transmitter the LINK green light starts to flash rapidly in the same
way as the transmitter.
After approximately 10 seconds the transmitter will jump back to normal mode and continue
transmitting data. The receivers now try to synchronize to the transmitter.
When synchronized to the transmitter, 2 different modes are possible:
1. ANTENNA FLEX transmitter has detected and transmits a DMX signal, in this mode LINK and
DATA green lights are seen on the transmitter and LINK and DATA green lights are seen on the
receiver.
2. No DMX signal connected: LINK green light on the transmitter is ON and DATA green light is
OFF; LINK green light on the receiver is ON and DATA green light is OFF.
To log a receiver OFF from a transmitter simply press the function button on receiver for
approximately 5 seconds; when logged OFF the LINK green light will be OFF, meaning its
available for log in on a new transmitter.
Logging out a receiver
Press and hold the function button of the receiver for about 5 seconds. When the LINK green light
is OFF, the receiver is logged out.
Logging out all receivers from a transmitter
Press and hold the function button of the transmitter for about 5 seconds. When the LINK green
light are OFF, the receivers are logged out.
Transmitter, LEDs Status
LINK green light ON: normal operation.
LINK green light Slow Flashing: Receivers are being unlinked
LINK green light Rapid Flashing: Receivers are being linked
DATA green light OFF: DMX signal not present.
DATA green light ON: receiving DMX data.
Receiver, LEDs Status
LINK green light OFF: not logged on to a transmitter (free).
LINK green light ON and DATA green light OFF: logged on to a transmitter but DMX signal not
present.
LINK green light ON and DATA green light ON: logged on to a transmitter and receiving DMX data.
LINK green light Fast flashing: log in mode (getting log in configuration data from a transmitter)
LINK green light Slow flashing: transmitter are being searched or linked transmitter is lost.
Point-to-point operation
Point-to-point systems are used when you want to send wireless DMX data from a console to a
single receiver. As the receiver accepts all 512 DMX channels from the transmitter you can easily
daisy chain more fixtures by cable from the original fixture that is wirelessly connected.

Point-to-multipoint operation
A multipoint ANTENNA FLEX W-DMX system can support up to 512 individual receivers
responding to a single ANTENNA FLEX W-DMX Transmitter. All receivers in a multipoint system
will listen only to the designated transmitter and they will all receive the full 512 channels of the
DMX universe. This makes it straightforward to connect single fixtures or daisy-chained groups of
fixtures to any of the receivers in the system.

Installation
ANTENNA FLEX TX (Transmitter):
1)Plug the stadard antenna to the rear panel.
2)Link the DMX source to the DMX input socket on the frontal panel.
3)Connect power to the unit either via the Main AC power input (90 to 250 VAC) or the DC power
input (12 VDC).
To add receivers
Note: You can add receivers at any time, even during operation.
1)Power on the receiver units and ensure that they are not linked with any other transmitter (LINK
green light must be OFF)
2)Press and release the FUNCTION button on the transmitter unit
The transmitter will scan for all unlinked receives for a period of 10 seconds (LINK green light will
flash rapidly).
3)If succesfull, the receiver’s LINK green light will goes solid ON.
To unlink all receivers
1)On the transmitter, press and hold the FUNCTION button untill the LINK green light will flash
rapidly. All registered receiver will be unlinked.
ANTENNA FLEX RX (Receiver):
1)Plug the stadard antenna to the rear panel.
2)Link the ANTENNA DMX output to the projector’s DMX input connector.
3)Connect power to the unit either via the Main AC power input (90 to 250 VAC) or the DC power
input (12 VDC)
To link with a transmitter
1)Ensure that the receiver is not linked with any other transmitter (LINK green light must be OFF)
2)Press and release the FUNCTION button on the transmitter unit
The transmitter will scan for all unlinked receives for a period of 10 seconds (LINK green light will
flash rapidly).
3)If succesfull, the receiver’s LINK green light will goes solid ON.
