SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - General
• Pleasereadtheseinstructionscarefullyandretainthemforfuturereference.
• Usethisappliancesolelyinaccordancewiththeseinstructions.
• Thisappliancecanbeusedbychildrenolderthan8yearsandpersonswithreducedphysical,sensory
ormentalcapabilitiesorlackofexperienceandknowledge,butonlyiftheyhavebeengivensupervision
orinstructionconcerninguseoftheapplianceinasafewayandunderstandthehazardsinvolved.
• Childrenshouldbesupervisedtoensurethattheydonotplaywiththeappliance.
• Cleaningand maintenancemust not bedone bychildren, except ifthey areolder than 8years and
supervised.
• Keeptheapplianceandthecableoutofreachofchildrenunder8years.
• Haveanyrepairscarriedoutsolelybyaqualifiedelectrician.Nevertrytorepairtheapplianceyourself.

• Before use please verify that the mains voltage is the same as indicated on the rating plate of the
appliance.
• Makesurethatyoualwaysuseanearthedwallsockettoconnecttheappliance.
• Alwaysremovetheplugfromthemainssocketbeforemovingtheapplianceandwhentheapplianceis
notinuse.
• Removetheplugfromthewallsocketbypullingtheplug,notthepowercord.
• Checktheappliance’spowercordregularlytomakesureitisnotdamaged.Donotusetheapplianceif
thepowercordisdamaged.Haveadamagedpowercordreplacedbyaqualifiedrepairservice.
• Certainpartsoftheappliancemaygethot.Donottouchthesepartstopreventburningyourself.
• Makesurethattheappliance,thepowercordortheplugdonotmakecontactwithhotservices,suchas
ahothobornakedflame.
• Makesurethattheappliance,thepowercordandplugdonotmakecontactwithwater.

• Neverusetheapplianceoutdoors.
• Neverusetheapplianceinahumidroom.
• Makesurethatyourhandsaredrybeforetouchingtheappliance,powercordorplug.
• Thepowercordhasayellowandaredmark.Pulloutthepowercordtotheyellowmark.Neverpullout
thepowercordbeyondtheredmark.
• Guidethepowercordwhilstitrewindsontothereel,sinceotherwisethecordcould becometangledor
theplugcouldstrikethebackoftheappliance.Takeholdofthepowercordnearthemark,andallowit
togentlyslidethroughyourfingersbackintotheappliance.
• Makesurethatthedustbagdoesnotbecomepinchedbetweenthecoverandthemotorunit.Thiscould
damagetheapplianceand/orthedustbag.
• Donotusetheappliancetosuckupthefollowingobjects:
• glowingorburningobjects
• glasssplintersorothersharpobjects
• residuesofplaster,cement,stone,soot,andsimilar
• liquids,ormoistdirt.
Theseobjectscouldcauseseriousdamagetotheapplianceandthefiltersystem,andmakeitunsafeto
use.
• Donotusethevacuumcleaneronwetrugsandcarpets.
• Neverinsertobjectsintheair-exhaustvents.
• Make sure that the suction and exhaust openings are open, and that the filters are not blocked.
Blockageswillcausetheappliancetooverheat.Switchoffthevacuumcleanerimmediately!Onceyou
haveremediedtheproblem,wait20to30minutestoallowthevacuumcleanertocooldowncompletely.
Thevacuumcleanerwillthenbereadyforuseagain.
• Keepthenozzleandthetubesawayfromthebodywhilethevacuumcleanerisrunning.Thiscould
causeseriousinjury,forexampletotheeyesorears.
• Neverrolltheapplianceoverthecord.
• Switchofftheapplianceandremovetheplugfromthewallsocketintheeventofamalfunctionduring
use,andbeforefillingoremptyingtheappliance,cleaningtheappliance,fittingorremovinganaccessory,
orstoringtheapplianceafteruse.
• Donotpickuptheapplianceifitfallsintowater.Removetheplugfromthewallsocketimmediately.Do
notusetheapplianceanymore.
• Neverimmersetheappliance,thepowercordorthepluginwaterorotherliquid.Afterwashingthefilters
makesuretheyarethoroughlydrybeforereturningthemtotheappliance.
