Follow basic safety precautions, including:

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons

with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and

knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards

involved.

Children shall not play with the appliance.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are

older than 8 and supervised.

Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children under 8 years.

Misuse of the appliance may cause injury.

h The surfaces of the appliance will get hot. Residual heat will keep the surfaces

hot after use.

Don’t immerse the appliance in liquid.

If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent,

or someone similarly qualiﬁed, to avoid hazard.

• Sit the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.

• Keep the appliance and cable away from the edges of worktops.

• Don’t use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.

• Don’t use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

• Fill the reservoir to the max mark, and run the appliance without coﬀee.

• Let it cool, discard the water, then use it normally.

DESCALE REGULARLY

Descale the appliance at least monthly with a proprietary descaler. Follow the instructions on the package

of descaler.

Products returned under guarantee with faults due to scale will be subject to a repair charge.

THE CARAFE IS INSULATED

This means you can enjoy fresh, hot coﬀee anywhere in the home or garden.

1. To close the carafe lid, turn it fully clockwise.

2. The indent will be aligned with (.

3. It should be in this position while the carafe is sitting on the rest, or being carried.

4. To pour, remove the carafe from the rest and turn the lid 90° to align the indent with the spout.

5. Close the lid after pouring.

6. To remove the lid, turn it 1 full turn from the closed position.

8. To replace the lid, align the indent with (, ﬁt the lid to the carafe, then turn it fully clockwise.

10. Rinse the carafe with hot water, to prewarm it, so it doesn’t take heat from the coﬀee.

FILLING

1. Remove the carafe from the rest.

2. Lift the lid oﬀ the reservoir.

3. Fill the reservoir with the exact amount of water required.

4. Replace the reservoir lid.

5. The arrow B on the lid must point towards the appliance.

6. Alternatively, you may lift the reservoir oﬀ the appliance, ﬁll it in the kitchen, and carry it back to the

appliance.

7. To reﬁt the reservoir hook the catches on the top of the reservoir over the tabs on the body of the

appliance. Next, press the reservoir down as far as it will go until it is fully seated on the appliance.

Failure to do this may cause the appliance to switch oﬀ before the brew cycle is complete.

8. Press the lid lock to open the lid.

9. Open up a #4 paper ﬁlter, and put it into the ﬁlter holder.

10. Put 6g (1 rounded teaspoon) of ﬁlter-ground coﬀee into the ﬁlter for each cup of water.

11. Close the lid, and press down to lock it.

12. Replace the carafe on the rest.

MAKING COFFEE

1. Put the plug into the power socket.

2. The power light will glow as long as the appliance is connected to the electricity supply.

3. Press and release the button.

4. Shortly afterwards, coﬀee will start to drip into the carafe.

5. The status light will change colour to show how fresh the coﬀee is.

Blue (ﬂashing) Brewing

Green 0-15 minutes since brewing

Purple 15-30 minutes since brewing

Red 30-40 minutes since brewing

6. About 40 minutes after brewing ﬁnishes, the appliance will shut down.

7. After about 40 minutes, chemical changes will aﬀect the taste of the coﬀee.

A QUICK CUP

You can remove the carafe at any time. To prevent the ﬁlter holder overﬂowing, replace the carafe on the

rest within about 20 seconds.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool.

2. Press the lid lock to open the lid.

3. Tip the contents of the ﬁlter holder into the bin.

4. Hand wash the carafe and ﬁlter holder.

5. Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.

6. Turn the ﬁlter holder to bring the slot in its rim towards the lid, then lower the ﬁlter holder back into

the coﬀee maker.

7. Close the lid, and press down to lock it.

¬ You may wash these parts in the top rack of a dishwasher.

8. If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will aﬀect the surface ﬁnishes.

9. The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not aﬀect the operation of the appliance.
