4. To pour, remove the carafe from the rest and turn the lid 90° to align the indent with the spout.
5. Close the lid after pouring.
6. To remove the lid, turn it 1 full turn from the closed position.

10. Rinse the carafe with hot water, to prewarm it, so it doesn’t take heat from the coffee.
FILLING
1. Remove the carafe from the rest.
2. Lift the lid off the reservoir.
3. Fill the reservoir with the exact amount of water required.
4. Replace the reservoir lid.
5. The arrow B on the lid must point towards the appliance.
6. Alternatively, you may lift the reservoir off the appliance, fill it in the kitchen, and carry it back to the
appliance.
7. To refit the reservoir hook the catches on the top of the reservoir over the tabs on the body of the
appliance. Next, press the reservoir down as far as it will go until it is fully seated on the appliance.
Failure to do this may cause the appliance to switch off before the brew cycle is complete.
8. Press the lid lock to open the lid.
9. Open up a #4 paper filter, and put it into the filter holder.
10. Put 6g (1 rounded teaspoon) of filter-ground coffee into the filter for each cup of water.
11. Close the lid, and press down to lock it.
12. Replace the carafe on the rest.
MAKING COFFEE
1. Put the plug into the power socket.
2. The power light will glow as long as the appliance is connected to the electricity supply.
3. Press and release the button.
4. Shortly afterwards, coffee will start to drip into the carafe.
5. The status light will change colour to show how fresh the coffee is.
Blue (flashing) Brewing
Green 0-15 minutes since brewing
Purple 15-30 minutes since brewing
Red 30-40 minutes since brewing
6. About 40 minutes after brewing finishes, the appliance will shut down.
7. After about 40 minutes, chemical changes will affect the taste of the coffee.
A QUICK CUP
You can remove the carafe at any time. To prevent the filter holder overflowing, replace the carafe on the
rest within about 20 seconds.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
2. Press the lid lock to open the lid.
3. Tip the contents of the filter holder into the bin.
4. Hand wash the carafe and filter holder.
5. Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
6. Turn the filter holder to bring the slot in its rim towards the lid, then lower the filter holder back into
the coffee maker.
7. Close the lid, and press down to lock it.
¬ You may wash these parts in the top rack of a dishwasher.
8. If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface finishes.
9. The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the appliance.
