When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precauons should always be
followed, including:
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilies or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instrucon
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and
supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than
8 years old.
Always ensure the voltage on the rang label corresponds to the voltage in
your home.
Check the power cord and plug regularly for any damage. If the cord or the
plug is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualied electrician or a service
repair centre. If in doubt please contact our customer service team.
The appliance is intended for domesc use only. Industrial or commercial
use will void the warranty. The supplier cannot be held responsible for injury
or damage if the appliance has been used for anything other than its
intended use.
Incorrect operaon and use can damage the appliance and cause injury to
the user.
Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way. If
the unit has been damaged take the unit for examinaon and or repair by an
authorised service agent.
Do not immerse or expose the motor assembly, plug or the power cord in

Never handle or operate the appliance with wet hands.
Do not use this appliance with accessories that are not supplied.
When the appliance is in use, do not move the appliance or leave it
unaended.
The Steam Wand/Nozzle becomes very hot during use. This may cause
burns when touched. Do not direct the steam nozzle towards yourself, or
others.
To avoid burns, never remove the water container or porta lter when
brewing coee or frothing milk, unl the operaon is complete.
The metal parts of the porta lter will be very hot aer use; hold by the

Descaling the appliance
To keep the espresso maker working eciently, the espresso maker may need
descaling (you will noce the brewing takes longer). This will depend on the water
in your area and how oen the espresso maker is used. As a guide, you should
descale your machine every 30 days.
Citric acid made for descaling coee makers can be used, using the following
procedure:
 Pour the descaling soluon into the water container.
5
 Follow the ‘Brewing Espresso’ secon on page 10 (without coee in the
porta lter), switch the appliance on and run through each funcon. Allow 5
minutes between the use of each funcon.
 Aer descaling, ll the water container with clean water and let the water
run through each cycle unl the container is empty.
 Rinse the porta lter with warm water.
Descaler can be purchased from all good supermarkets.
You can also descale your appliance using a mixture of dislled white vinegar and
one part water.
To do that, follow the instrucons below:
1. Mix one part water with one part dislled white vinegar.
2. Run the soluon through the machine once, but make sure to remove any
coee rst. Once the soluon has run through, discard.
3. Rinse the machine by running fresh water through it three mes.
