The battery on your new device is a high capacity rechargeable lithium battery. It must be charged for a
minimumof8hoursbeforefirstuse.46hourswillsufficientlychargetheunitafternormaluse.
Themachinehastwochargingmethodstoselect:

2. A USB wall charge r (sold separately) can be used in conjunction with the USB cable to charge your

Inthechargingprocessthechargerandthebackshellofthedevicemaybecomewarm.Thisisnormal.
WhileintheprocessofmovingfilestoorfromyourmediaplayerdonotdisconnecttheUSBcableoritmay
leadtoadataerror.

1.Introduction
The Impulse is a media player with MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, APE, ACC, OGG audio
formats support, support for RM, RMVB, AVI,MP4,WMV, FLV,MPG, MPEG, MKV and
othervideoformatsaswell.Someotherkeyfeaturesincludedigitalrecording,FMradio,
ebookreader,photoviewing,calendar,worldtime,stopwatchandcalculatorfunctions.
The Impulse supports multiple languages (Chinese, Spanish, English, French and other

languages).Capableof colorful displays ofthe mainmenuandsub menu, also displays
suchinformationassongtitle,lyrics,albumart,ID3informationandotherfunctions.

3.BasicOperation
3.1TurningOnthePlayer
ON/OFFSwitch:Slidethepowerswitchontheleftsideoftheunitdownfor34seconds
toturntheuniton/off.
IftheON/OFFswitchissliduptheunitwillbelockedpreventing

accidental press of screen icons/buttons. It is recommended to always shut down the
unit by sliding the ON/OFF switch down for 34 seconds from the main menu to shut
downtheunitcompletely.Themediaplayerwillautomaticallygointothismodeifthe
battery becomes depleted. At which point
the unit should be connected to a power
sourceandallowedtocharge.
3.2ConnectingtoaComputer
StartthecomputerthenconnecttheprovidedUSBcabletoyourmediaplayerandyour
computer. If a driver is needed your computer will be able to locate one to install.
Please
make sure to be online when connecting for the first time in case the driver
needstobedownloaded. Then you wouldsimplydrag and drop your filesdirectlyinto
themediaplayer.Itdoesnotrequireany thirdpartyprogramsto loadyourfilestothe
mediaplayer.

3.3Volumecontrol
Inmusicmode,videomode,andradiotapthespeakericononthescreendisplayanda
volumeprogressbarwillpopup.Clickonordragupanddowntoadjustthevolume.
3.4Battery
This media player utilizes a highcapacity rechargeablelithium battery. Batterylife
can
begreatlyaffectedbysettingssuchasequalizersettings,volume,screenbrightnessand
screen time. Users can set the media player’s "custom shutdown time" or "Display
Settings"tohelpsavethebatterylife.
4.MenuSelectionsandKeys
Bydraggingleftandrightonthebottomiconsrowyoucanviewallofthedifferentmain
menu icons, which include "Music", "Video," "Ebook", "Photo", "Record", "Calendar",

"Explorer" "Stopwatch", "World Time", "Calculator", "Game", "Settings". Find your
desiredfunction,tapontheiconrepresentingthemenuyouwishtoenter.
5.MusicPlayer
Upon entering the music section you will see the list of music files on your player.
Selectthesongyouwishtoplaybytappingonthename.Dragdownthelistandslide
upanddowntobrowsethroughthelist.
Tapthe"More"icontopopupafeatureselectionlist:
a. RecordFiles:Takesyoutofilesrecordedwiththemediaplayer.
b. DirectoryList:Displaysalistofdirectoriesandmusicfiles.
c. UpdateLibrary:Updatesthemedialibrary.
d. HoldONPlay:Showsrecentlyplayedsongsthreeatatime.

e. NowPlaying/ResumePlay:Takesyoubacktothemusicplayerinterface.
5.1PlaybackFunctions
Previous / Forward: Skip to the last song or next song, press and hold down to fast
forwardorrewind.
Play/Pause:Touchthisicontopauseplayback,touchonceto pause,
touchagainto
play.
Volume control: Touch the click, the progress bar will pop up the volume, point
progresscanadjustthevolume.
5.2EQMode:
InMUSIC,fromthenowplayingscreentaptheEQicontocyclethroughaudiomodeone
at a time. EQ selections: Normal,
3D, MSEQ, Rock, Pop, Classic, Bass, Jazz, User EQ.
Custom EQ's can be set up from the more section in the Currently Playing interface.

Accessto thefunctions ofthe current backgroundcolor settings, threechoices:green,

Font Color: Selectthe current into the featureto display the font color, three choices:

Font Size: access to the functions of the currently displayed font size settings,
specifically,therearethreeoptions:alargefont,thefont,smallfont.
In an open eBook the upper right corner will show the total number of pages and
currentpagenumber,accordingtotheremainingcontentof
file.
Note:Thismachineonly supports the "ANSI"encodingformatof the TXTtext, the text
doesnotsupportotherformats.
8.Photo
ToenterPhotoselectthePhotoiconfromtheMainMenu.

OnceinPhoto,itwillbringupthumbnailsizediconsofthepicturescurrentlyloadedto
the player. If one picture is selected and opened, the media player will display a
expandedversion.Fromhereyoucanslideleftorrighttomovetothenextorprevious
photo.
8.2Rotate:
Torotateapictureyoucantapontherotateicon.
8.3Zoom:
Ifyouwishtozoominonaphoto,youcantapontheZOOMiconwhenthephotoisin
expandeddisplay.
8.4More:
IfyoutapontheMOREiconyouwillbringupthe
followingoptions:
a.Setthedesktop:Thiswillmakethecurrentphotoyourmainmenubackground.

b.SlideTime:Setsthetimeintervalbetweenslides.
All options in Photo will still be available while music is playing in the background.
9.Record
Toopentherecordingmenu,fromthemainmenutaponceon theiconforRecord.
9.1.Recording
Tobeginrecording,taponthe
REDDOT,Recordicon.Thiswillbegintherecording,the
timeleftinmemorywilldisplaytotherightofthetimeelapsedinthecurrentrecording.
To pause and continue later tap the Pause icon, then it willbecome theplay iconand
you can then press it again to
resume the recording.Before you leave the recoding
menuitwillpromptyouifyouwishtosavetherecording.

11.2.DeleteFiles
In explorer, select an icon by tapping and holding down on the screen until a pop up
windowemergesandpromptsifyouwouldliketodeletethefile.Selectyesandthefile
willbedeletedfromthemediaplayersinternalmemory.
12.Calendar
To open the Calendar menu tap on the Calendar Icon from the main menu.
You can scroll through and view the day on any month, also to take you back to the
currentdate,tapontheTODAYiconunderthecalendaranditwillbringyoubacktothe
current
day.

Fromhereyoucanselectyourtimezone,presstherightorleftbuttonstoskipthrough
thedifferentmajorcitiesinalphabeticalordertoselectyourtimezone.
Note: The upper right corner of the world's time, time zone and date display as the
defaulttimezoneandtime.
14.Stopwatch
Click the "Begin" button to start the timer. Start the timer and the "Begin" button
becomesthe"Pause"button.Whenyoustartthetimerthe"Clear"buttonbecomesthe
"Count"buttonpressthistotakeupto4differenttimes.
