Analog Way EDID Editor is a useful applicaon that allows you to open and edit any standard EDID binary le
in a simple and intuive way. It supports EDID Versions 1.3 and 1.4 as well as CEA-861-F Extension and can
also retrieve EDID informaon for the displays which have been connected to your computer (Windows only).
Analog Way EDID Editor can also help systems integrators and AV professionals to set the preferred format of
any input or to solve compability issues they may encounter with the sources connected to any Livecore™ &
Midra™ series and VIO 4K mul-format converter (resoluon problems, audio support…).
Steps:
- Use your Analog Way Remote Controller
Soware to extract the EDID informaon
from the display to your computer
- Use Analog Way EDID Editor to create
a custom copy of the extracted EDID le
- Use your Analog Way Remote Controller
Soware to upload the custom EDID le
and aach it to any compliant input plug.
QUICK INSTALL AND SETUP

Download the latest version of the AW EDID
Editor installer for Windows (the le name is
SetupAWEDIDEditor_<version>.exe).
Double-clicking this le launches the installer that
will install AW EDID Editor on your system.

SetupAWEDIDEditor_<version>.pkg).
Double-clicking this le launches the installer that
will install AW EDID Editor on your system.

UNDERSTANDING THE “STANDARD DATA” TAB
Select the EDID standard
revision ( 1.3 or 1.4)
Set the Vendor/Product Idencaon
Set the Basic Display Parameters and
the supported Features
Set the Established Formats Set the Standard Timing
Idencaon (8 VESA GTF
standard mings)
View/Edit EDID
Choose Open from the File menu to load an EDID
from a standard EDID binary le (.bin). Once loaded,
AW EDID Editor displays the EDID sengs and
oponal extensions:
New EDID
Choose New from the File menu to create a blank
EDID. You will be prompted to select the E-EDID
version (1.3 or 1.4) before eding the sengs.
Save EDID
Choose Save from the File menu to save the edited
EDID sengs to a standard binary le. If the EDID
was saved before or loaded from a standard EDID
binary le then it will overwrite the old one.
Import EDID
Choose Import… from the Tool menu to import any
human readable EDID text le (.dat or .edid) into the
EDID editor.
Export EDID
Choose Export… from the Tool menu to export the
current EDID sengs to a human readable EDID text
le (.dat).
Read EDID from registry
For Windows only. Choose Extract registry E-EDID…
from the Tool menu to browse EDID data folder in
Windows registry and import an EDID into the editor.
Hexa Viewer
Choose Hexa Viewer from the Tool menu to display
the EDID content in a hexadecimal format.

UNDERSTANDING THE “CEA EXTENSION” TAB
The rst block of the ‘Detailed Data’ tab is a Preferred
Timing block. The corresponding type can’t be changed.
It contains the whole descripon of the rst preferred
format. Giving the resoluon and rate, the CVT Wizard
automacally computes and lls the format parameters
using the CVT 1.2 standard. This can be used to create a
portrait-oriented preferred format.
Select type of blocks to be added in the CEA extension and customize them.
Please note that depending on the CEA-861-F version used, some types of
blocks may not be available.
Add video descriptors from CEA-861.
Nave means “Present in one of the blocks
of the Detailed Data tab”.

Create addional blocks containing vendor
specic informaon.

Select the CEA-861
Extension Version
The type of the blocks 2 to 4 can be
selected amongst the following list:
- Preferred Timing Block
- Display Product Serial Number
- Alphanumeric Data String
- Display Range Limits
- Display Product Name
- Color Point Data
- Standard Timing Idencaons
- Display Color Management (1.4)
- CVT Timing Codes (1.4)
- Established Timings III (1.4)
