Overview
Use this guide to connect a Relay to a 2013 and newer Mack truck with cable CB-0174-02.
NOTE: The supplied cable may have either a red or orange cable color, and may appear
differently than the image.

Connecting Power (red or orange) and Ground (black) Wires
To install the power and ground cables to Mack posts:
1. Connect red or orange (power) wire to the post labeled “BATTERY FUSE 11.”
a. Be sure there is a 2 Amp or greater fuse present in the Fuse 11 location. Consult your
vehicle fuse chart for the location of the Battery Fuse 11 location.
2. Connect black (ground) wire to a post labeled “GROUND.”

Wiring to J1939 (Mack) Specifications
Prior to connection, the connector on the left of the green and yellow wires will have the
termination resistor connected. This is where the J1939 connection will be made.
1. Remove the termination resistor and set it aside (may require
removal of gray plastic locking clip [image at right]).
2. Plug the matching end of the CB-0174-02 cable into the
connector where the termination resistor was.
3. Plug the termination resistor into the other connector on CB-
0174-02 and reinstall locking clip, if present.
4. Run the 15-pin end of the cable through the fuse panel cover
and connect to the Relay.
5. Replace the fuse panel cover. The installation is complete.
