Overview
The ALC-1000 is an in-dash multi-function touchscreen computer designed around the unique needs of
fleet and enterprise users. The intuitive user interface and consolidated hardware design creates an
immersive experience with increased situational awareness, reduced driver workload, improved safety,
and unmatched reliability.
Features of the ALC-1000 include
High resolution touchscreen interface
AM/FM stereo with RDS and integrated amplifier
Rearview camera
Bluetooth speakerphone and audio streaming
GPS-based navigation
Multiple audio / video inputs and outputs
Plug-and-play installation
WiFi connectivity
Remote Device Management
Atlas Labs Mobile CAD Dispatch software
The ALC-1000 is available in vehicle specific models supporting plug-and-play operation with most
manufacturers including Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota to name a few. Universal mount devices are
available for vehicle chassis using the double DIN form factor.
WiFi Client & Internet Connectivity
The ALC-1000 incorporates a WiFi module for internet connectivity with vehicle mounted WiFi access
points, enabling network based applications such as Mobile CAD, Atlas Labs Remote Device
Management, and Waze.
The ALC-1000 may operate with or without internet. Applications for AM/FM stereo, Bluetooth,
rearview camera, DVD, and offline navigation may be used without internet connectivity.
Applications for remote device management, Mobile CAD, and Waze require internet connectivity from
an onboard vehicle WiFi hotspot or Ethernet (requires Atlas Labs ALC-1000 Ethernet adapter).
2
AM/FM Stereo
The ALC-1000 includes an integrated AM/FM stereo receiver that enables the user to listen to radio
while simultaneously using other applications such as Mobile CAD and Waze. Stereo audio is mixed with
sound from Mobile CAD, navigation, and other sources before being routed to the factory vehicle
speakers via the integrated 4x45 watt amplifier.
Bluetooth Audio & Speakerphone
The ALC-1000 incorporates a Bluetooth transceiver that enables mobile phones, tablets, and other
devices to wirelessly stream audio through the vehicle’s factory speakers. Device pairing and
configuration is performed using the Bluetooth app or Android system settings.
On screen controls enable remote control of audio devices and phones including play, pause, volume,
mute, dial, and call end among other functions.
3
Rearview Camera
The ALC-1000 includes a rearview camera input for connection to a wide array of cameras. When
installed, the rearview camera provides a wide-angle view of the rear of your vehicle while reversing.
For safety and ease of use, the rearview display mode is automatically activated when the vehicle is
placed in reverse (no driver interaction required).
Automatic video switching requires proper connection of the reverse detect wire or use of the Vehicle
Interface Module (VIM). See the Installation section for additional information.
Supported Camera Types
Atlas Labs supports cameras with standard RCA video connections (1V peak-to-peak signal). When used
with non-mirrored cameras, the ALC-1000’s video settings may be adjusted via the Android system
settings for horizontal flipping of the video signal.
4
Installation
Though the ALC-1000 includes many connectors, not all are used by each make and model of vehicle.
Installation will vary between vehicle types and desired options. Refer to the following diagram for
details.
The ALC-1000’s factory vehicle connectors are keyed to prevent incorrect attachment. ALC-1000
connectors without a corresponding vehicle plug may be left unplugged.
Unused connectors such as those for amplifiers and subwoofers should be insulated with electrical tape
and safely tucked out of the way so as to prevent mechanical stress or damage when mounting the ALC-
1000.
Vehicle Interface Module (VIM)
The ALC-1000 includes a vehicle interface module for plug-and-play
installation. Most vehicles manufactured after 2008 require use of
the VIM for proper ALC-1000 operation.
The VIM communicates with the vehicles data bus to provide
signaling for reverse detect, ignition sense, parking brake use, and
other vehicle indicators.

Audio / Video Harness
The audio/video harness provides connections for optional equipment such as auxiliary audio inputs,
subwoofer drivers, amps, cameras, and auxiliary video inputs/outputs. Typical commercial vehicle
installations make use of the CAM IN input only, leaving the unused plugs disconnected.
All connectors, both used and unused, should be wrapped with electrical tape to prevent inadvertent
short circuits with other cables or connectors.

Device Setup
Following installation, the ALC-1000 should be connected to the vehicle’s wireless hotspot if available so
that internet based applications such as Waze, MobileCAD, and Atlas Labs Device Management may
function properly.
Wi-Fi Configuration
To access the Wi-Fi configuration screen, select the Settings app to bring up the following screen. Click
the Wi-Fi option under Wireless & Networks. Turn on Wi-Fi if not already activated, then select your
SSID.
Next, enter the password corresponding to your SSID then select Connect. Wi-Fi is now ready to use.
7
If your SSID is hidden, you will need to manually add it by pressing the “+” sign at the top right of the
screen to bring up the following form.
Enter the SSID, then select the security key type and password if needed, then click Save. If the hidden
SSID is in range, it should connect within approximately 30 seconds.
