Installation and Operation Instructions
ACI/TUC Room Unit
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION!
GENERAL INFORMATION
FAILURE TO WIRE DEVICES WITH THE
CORRECT POLARITY WHEN USING A
SHARED TRANSFORMER MAY RESULT IN
DAMAGE TO ANY DEVICE POWERED BY
THE SHARED TRANSFORMER.
The ACI/TUC Room Unit is factory-configured to
support your specific requirements.
CAUTION
CHECK THAT THE ACI/TUC ROOM UNIT IS
CORRECTLY CONFIGURED FOR YOUR
APPLICATION; CONTACT ACI IF YOU ARE
UNSURE.
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
The number of wires needed depends on the application,
with 4 wires minimum and 8 wires maximum required
to support the functions of the ACI/TUC Room Unit.
Generally, one wire is required for each function, one
wire for power, and one wire for ground. All functions
are common ground referenced. ACI recommends 16-
22 AWG twisted pair wires or shielded cable for all
sensor installations. Be sure to connect the cable
shield to the ground at the controller ONLY.
THE ACI/TUC ROOM UNIT IS A PRECISION
INSTRUMENT; PLEASE HANDLE IT WITH
CARE!
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Separate the cover from the base. If your application
includes a communications jack, please refer to the
communications wiring instructions document before
mounting the base. Attach the base directly to drywall,
or to a standard 2” x 4” junction box using the mounting
hardware provided. Refer to the wiring instructions to
make the necessary connections. After wiring, attach
the cover to the base and turn the (2) hex-screws at the
bottom of the base until the cover cannot be removed.

POWER (+)
+15 to +30VDC, or 24Vac (+). See notes.
WARNING
REMOVE POWER BEFORE WIRING!
NEVER CONNECT OR DISCONNECT
WIRING WITH POWER APPLIED. DO NOT
ALLOW LIVE WIRES TO TOUCH THE
CIRCUIT BOARD!
CAUTION
DO NOT RUN THE ACI/TUC ROOM UNIT
WIRING IN ANY CONDUIT WITH LINE
POWERED WIRING.
NOTES:
IF THE ACI/TUC ROOM UNIT IS POWERED
BY 24VAC, THE 24VAC POWER AND
GROUND WIRES SHOULD BE RUN IN A
SEPARATE CABLE FROM SIGNAL WIRES.
SEPARATE THE POWER CABLE FROM THE
SIGNAL CABLE BY AT LEAST 6 INCHES
ALONG THE ENTIRE WIRING RUN.
1. Override may be factory configured to function on the SEN or SET terminals to
eliminate the need for a wire jumper between terminals OR and the SEN or the
SET outputs.
2. If your ACI/TUC Room Unit has any output configured as 0-10V, 2-10V,
0-20mA, or 4-20mA, the voltage at the POWER (+) terminal must be at least
+18VDC.
3. If your ACI/TUC Room Unit is configured for +5VDC operation, apply a DC
voltage within the range of +4.75VDC to +5.25VDC to the POWER (+) terminal;
any voltage outside this range may damage the ACI/TUC Room Unit or cause
improper operation.
ACI RECOMMENDS USING AN ISOLATION
TRANSFORMER WHEN POWERING THE
ACI/TUC ROOM UNIT WITH 24VAC!
4. Units configured with the fan speed option will have terminals for the FAN and
AUX signals. Units without the fan speed option will not have terminals loaded at
these locations.

SETPOINT TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
OPERATION
The ACI/TUC Room Unit normally displays the room
temperature. When the UP or DOWN key is pressed,
the word “Setpoint” appears and the current setpoint
temperature is displayed. Additional UP or DOWN key
presses increment or decrement the setpoint
temperature, while continuously depressing the UP or
DOWN key auto-increments or auto-decrements the
setpoint temperature. The display continues to show the
current setpoint temperature for 5 seconds after the last
UP or DOWN key press and then returns to the room
temperature display.
