Pain Management Pump
Quick User Guide
Users must have undertaken training before operang this device.
Refer to Operang Manual for full operang instrucons.
Screen informaon/sequences may vary with dierent soware versions.
The guidance given is based on pump default sengs; the pump set-up for your hospital/department may
vary if addional features/set-up opons have been added.
Always follow screen prompts and before pressing keys to proceed ensure selecons made correspond
with what is required.

While the infusion is running, repeatedly press INFO to display:
Press 1 - Infusion summary (VTBI/VI).
Press 2 - Boluses summary (aempted/given).
Press 3 - Clinician bolus summary.
Press 4 - Shi total.
Press 5 - Baery level.
Press 6 - Basal rate protocol review.
Press 7 - Paent bolus protocol review.
Press 8 - Date and me/occlusion pressure.
Accessing Informaon
Remember to remove and re-apply keypad lock.
1. To pause current infusion, press the STOP/NO.
2. Press the FF key.
3. Enter access code, press START/YES.
4. Use +/- keys to enter bolus, press START/YES.
5. Observe the screen showing Clinician Acvated Bolus delivery.
On compleon of bolus delivery the current infusion resumes.

Notes
When an ALERT is acvated:
1. The infusion connues and the LED indicator remains green.
2. Three beeps are heard approximately every three/four minutes.
3. A screen message alternates with the infusion running screen unl the end of the baery/infusion.
When an ALARM is acvated:
1. The infusion stops.
2. The LED indicator light turns from green to red.
3. The alarm sound connuously unl either the pump is paused or the problem is reced.
4. A message appears on the display indicang the alarm cause.

Deacvate keypad lock if further access required.
The pump has been powered o and powered on again.
Press YES to resume the current protocol. Press NO to start a new Therapy (protocol).
The infusion has been stopped.
Press YES to Resume the infusion or press NO to connue stopped state.
Alert: Protocol is about to end/syringe is almost empty.
Prepare to change syringe or disconnue pump use.
Alert: Baery is almost depleted.
Prepare to charge baery.
Alarm: The pump has been stopped/paused for more than 2 minutes with no intervenons or key presses.
Either press START/YES to resume, press STOP/NO to connue pause or turn the power o.
Alarm: Current infusion has completed and the syringe is empty.
Prepare to change syringe or disconnue pump use.
Alarm: Baery will fail imminently.
Charge baery.
Alarm: One or more of the syringe detecon sensors is not detecng.
Check the syringe and re-seat as necessary. Check screen messages for assistance.
Alarm: Clamped line, occluded or kinked. Actuator has reached the minimum travel posion.
Release the clamp, ush/replace the access device or clear the occlusion.
A technical or system error has occurred.
The pump alarms if system fault has been detected and the unit will be inoperave.
The user may be prompted to power o and restart, which may recfy the error.
If the problem cannot be reced: power o, remove from paent use.
Follow local policy and contact service department.
The Event Log will record the error/alarm event.

Remember to de-acvate and acvate keypad lock if necessary
1. With infusion in progress, use +/- keys to select “Basal Rate Titraon” opon, press START/YES.
2. Enter the relevant access code using +/- keys, press START/YES.
3. Enter the mL/hour rate using +/- keys, press START/YES.
4. Check that the new basal mL/hour rate displays on the infusion running screen.
Remember to remove and re-apply keypad lock.
1. With infusion in progress, use +/- keys to select either “Bolus Dose Titraon” or “Lockout Time Titraon
opon, press START/YES.
2. Enter the relevant access code using +/- keys, press START/YES.
3. Enter the dose or me required using +/- keys, press START/YES.
4. Check that the new dose or lockout me displays on the infusion running screen.
To change syringe when end alarm has acvated:
1. To conrm the end of infusion alarm, press START/YES.
2. Press STOP/NO then power o by pressing ON/OFF.
3. Clamp line.
4. Remove empty syringe and aach new syringe to administraon set.
5. Power on by pressing ON/OFF.
6. Follow screen prompts and when “Press Yes to Resume, No for New Therapy” screen displays press
START/YES (to retain infusion history).
7. When “Load Syringe” screen displays, load the new syringe, re-check protocol parameters and start the
infusion.

Enter the access code.

Use the +/- keys to scroll up/down the menu. When protocol required is
highlighted, press START/YES.
Check basal rate
parameters, press

Check bolus

Wait for the next screen to display.
If required, manually adjust the actuator posion then load syringe into the 3 x
sensors. Load the syringe into the 3 sensors.
Check that the syringe inserted into the pump matches the syringe displaying,
when they match, press START/YES.
If not required, press STOP/NO.
If required, press START/YES and follow screen prompts.
Check that the volume displaying matches the volume in the syringe, press
START/YES.
If the prompt Press YES to Resume, NO for New Program displays, press STOP/NO.
If the screen prompt “Protocol Lock, displays, select OFF and press START/YES.
Press ON/OFF key to power up.
The last line alternates between “Pump Operang” and the syringe size/brand
conrmed for the protocol.
Connect set/cannula to paent.
To commence the protocol, press START/YES.
Check protocol basal
