2. About the Product
This product is the “All-in-One” type PC, which has a10.1-inch size (WXGA 1280×800) LCD touch
screen integrated.
Since only selected interfaces such as 1000BASE-T, USB 2.0, and Audio are provided, the product can
be installed in a smaller space comparing to our earlier panel integrated computers.
Embedded-type CPU has been adopted. The use of readily available parts ensures the product to be
applied easily. In addition, the use of Contec-customized BIOS allows support to be provided at the
BIOS level.

Selectable touch-screen types
The CONTEC offers two types of touch-screen, resistive-film or capacitive to satisfy our customer's needs .
The compact design features flexibility in installation
With minimum interfaces such as USB2.0×1, LAN×1, and Audio×1, the compact size PC, (259(W)×23(D)×169(H), features flexibility in
installation.
Contributing to running cost reduction and energy
efficiency
Adopting the low-power platform of Intel® Atom(TM) Processor E3845 achieves lower power consumption while still ensuring sufficient
performance.
Fan-less design that reduces maintenance and
inspection work
This product's spindle-less design eliminates CPU fan, and relieves the concern about dust or foreign matter to get into the product. The
using parts that degrade over time is minimized to facilitate maintenance.
VESA standard support
Conforming to the VESA standard (75×75), the product can be set on the various types of arms or stands.

1. Safety Information
This document provides safety information using the following symbols to prevent accidents
resulting in injury or death and the destruction of equipment and resources.
Understand the meanings of these labels to operate the equipment safely.
DANGER
DANGER indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury or in property damage.

2. Handling Precautions
WARNING
Always check that the power supply is turned off before connecting or disconnecting power
cables.
Do not use the product in locations exposed to a flammable or corrosive gas. It may cause
explosion, fire, electrical shock, or malfunction.
Do not touch metal parts (edge connector) with your hands. Otherwise, the product may
malfunction, or cause failure.
When transporting the product, pack it in the same condition as delivered from the Contec or
in equal packing condition to avoid applying shock, vibration, or static electricity directly to
the product.
Do not modify the product.
Always turn off the power before inserting or removing the cables.
This product is not intended for use in aerospace, space, nuclear power, medical equipment,
or other applications that require a very high level of reliability. Do not use the product in
such applications.
If using this product in applications where safety is critical such as in railways, automotive, or
disaster prevention or security systems, please contact your retailer.
Do not attempt to replace the battery as inappropriate battery replacement poses a risk of
explosion.
For battery replacement, contact your retailer as it must be performed as a process of repair.
When disposing of a used battery, follow the disposal procedures stipulated under the
relevant laws and municipal ordinances. For details on replacing the battery, refer to the
appendix.
This product is not suitable for use in locations where children are likely to be present.
CAUTION
Do not use or store this product in a location exposed to high or low temperature that
exceeds range of specification or susceptible to rapid temperature changes.
e.g. - Exposure to direct sun - In the vicinity of a heat source
Do not use this product in extremely humid or dusty locations. It is extremely dangerous to
use this product with its interior penetrated by water or any other fluid or conductive dust. If
this product must be used in such an environment, install it on a dust-proof control panel, for
example.
Avoid using or storing the product in locations subject to shock or vibration that exceeds
range of specification.

Do not use this product in the vicinity of devices that generate strong magnetic force or
noise. Such products will cause this product to malfunction.
Do not use or store this product in the presence of chemicals.
To clean this product, wipe it gently with a soft cloth dampened with either water or mild
detergent. Do not use chemicals or a volatile solvent, such as benzene or thinner, to prevent
pealing or discoloration of the paint.
CONTEC does not provide any guarantee for the integrity of data on storage.
This product’s case may become hot. To avoid being burned, do not touch that section while
this product is in operation or immediately after turning off the power. Avoid installation in a
location where people may come into contact with that section.
Always remove the power cable from the power outlet before connecting or disconnecting a
connector.
Do not touch metal parts or terminals with your hands when the product is in operation.
Otherwise, the product may malfunction, or cause failure.
To prevent corruption of files, shutdown the OS and always wait for five seconds or longer,
then turn off the power of this product.
CONTEC reserves the right to refuse to service a product modified by the user.
In the event of failure or abnormality (foul smells or excessive heat generation), unplug the
power cord immediately and contact your retailer.
Use the power cable that matches the power supply voltage and outlet plug that you are
using.
Always turn off the power before replacing storage. It is not hot-swappable. Removing the
storage during the operation may results in system damages.
CONTEC does not guarantee for a 24-hour continuous operation of the product or
continuous current application to the product.
Do not use any sharp-pointed object such as a mechanical pencil to touch the touch panel.
Doing so may scratch the touch panel, resulting in malfunctions.
It is a characteristic of touch screens that their resistance may vary with changes to the
ambient environment (temperature and humidity) and with their own aging, resulting in the
deviation of the detection point.
Resistive-film touch screen --- Calibrate the touch screen again to re-set calibration data
Capacitive touch screen --- Do not calibrate the touch screen. Doing so may result in
malfunctions.
LCD may have a few bright spots that are always on or a few black spots that are always off.
Color irregularity may also occur depending on the viewing angle. This however is due to the
structural characteristics of the LCD; therefore, it is not a product fault.
Burn-in on TFT Display
Burn-in” may occur if the same display is retained for a long time. Avoid this by periodically
switching the display so that the same display is not maintained for a long time.
* Burn-In : Phenomenon characterized by a TFT display as a result of long-time display of
the same screen where a shadow-like trace persists because electric charge remains in the
LCD element even after the patterns are changed.

The storage within the product doesn't support hot plug. The pulling out opening of the HDD
cannot be done in the state of power supply ON. Please neither pulling out opening of HDD
in the state of power supply ON of this product nor come in contact with HDD. This product
may malfunction or cause a failure.
This product's specifications allow the device to be rebooted from the BIOS screen during
startup. This has no effect on operation after the OS boots.
Component Life
M.2 --- The assumed life is about 3,000 times. For details on the life estimation, refer to
Appendix.
Battery --- The internal calendar clock and CMOS RAM are backed by a Lithium primary
battery. The backup time at a temperature of 25°C with the power disconnected is 7 years.
* Replacement of expendables is handled as a repair (there will be a charge).
* The service life for consumable parts are reference values and are not guaranteed values.

3. Security Warning
When connecting to the network, be aware of security-related problems. See the examples of
Security measures below and set up the product properly along with the network devices.
1. Information security risks
Unauthorized access from the outside through a network could cause the system halt, data
damage, or exposure to malware. *1
Invaded and used as a stepping stone, a device might attack the others through networks. (a
victim becomes an assailant)
Information might leak without realizing due to the connection to the network.
Secondary damages such as harmful rumors, liability in damages, social credibility fall, and
opportunity loss are expected led by the troubles described above.
*1: Malware (Malicious Software) is software that brings harm to a computer system and performs
unintended operations.
2. Security measures e.g.
Do not keep using the default password. (Refer to the product manual for the password
setting).
Set a strong password.
Combined with upper and lowercase letters, and numbers so that it cannot be easily
analogized by others.
Change the password periodically.
Disable unnecessary network services and functions.
Restrict access to the network with network devices. *2
Restrict ports to be released on the network with network devices. *2
Create a closed network connection using such as dedicated network or VPN*3
*2: Inquire for setting procedure to manufacturers.
*3: VPN (Virtual Private Network) a secured network that wards off unauthorized access by
protecting the communication path with authentication and encryption.
Unfortunately, there are no perfect ways to avert unauthorized access or close a security hole
that are endlessly found day and night.
Please understand that risks are always involved with the Internet connection, and we strongly
recommend a user should constantly update information security measures.
