The carton contains:
The Coffee Maker
Coffee Jug with lid
Coffee measuring spoon
If any items are missing or damaged, contact your
nearest Tesco store.
Carefully remove all packaging from the coffee maker.
Retain the packaging or dispose of it with regard to
any recycling provisions in your area.

The lter holder and lter are placed as shown in the
illustration.
The Coffee Pot Lid is packed separately.
To Assemble The Pot
Place the lid over the pot. Line the two lugs in the side
of the lid with the slots in the hinge. Steady the lid on
the pot with one hand and press the lid with the other
hand until it clicks into place.


Conrm that the mains voltage on the rating plate
under the unit is correct for the UK.
Remove the coffee pot, lter holder and lter. Rinse
them in cold water and allow to dry. Wipe the
main unit with a damp cloth. Reassemble the unit.
Place the unit on a stable, dry surface within easy
reach of a mains outlet. The mains cord should not
be taut.
Fill the tank with water up to the MAX mark. Close
the lid.
Do not overll.
Place the pot centrally on the hotplate.
Plug the unit into the mains switch on at the socket.
Switch the coffee maker ON/OFF switch to the
‘1’ position. The switch will light up showing the
unit is operational.
When the brewing cycle is complete discard
the contents of the ask. Carry out  or 3 full
operating cycles and then switch off the machine.

The measuring scale on the water tank indicates
the number of cups your coffee maker will brew.
Switch the coffee maker mains switch to the ‘0’
position.
Place the coffee pot centrally on the hot plate.
Ensure that the hole in the lid of the pot engages
with the spring valve in the machine or the coffee
may not ow properly.
Open the lid of the coffee maker.
Remove the lter and spoon in the required amount
of coffee grains – typically 6 – 7g. per cup, or to
taste.
Fill the water tank with fresh cold water to the level
corresponding to the number of cups required.
Follow the markings on the side of the water tanks.
Do not overll.
Insert the lter into the lter compartment.
Close the lid.
Plug the unit into the mains and switch on at the
socket.
Switch the coffee maker mains ON/OFF switch to
the ‘1’ position to start the machine. The red light
will come on.
When All The Coffee Has Run Into The Coffee Pot
Wait for one minute until all the coffee has nished
running into the pot. It can then be removed and
the coffee poured out.
If you wish to keep the coffee in the pot warm,
replace the pot on the hotplate and leave the
machine switched on.
When you have nished using the machine,
switch the ON/OFF switch to ‘0’ and unplug the
appliance.
Points To Remember When Operating Your
Coffee Maker
Disposable lters if used should be specially made
for coffee makers – Tesco stores stock a range of
suitable lters. Use size 4 (0 – cups).
Make sure you use coffee specially ground for
lter use.
Never use the coffee maker hotplate to warm
drinks such as baby milk, etc.

Ensure the coffee maker has completely cooled
down, is switched off and unplugged from the
mains.
Wipe the surfaces of the main unit with a slightly
damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaner, creams
or scourers. Never immerse the appliance in water
when cleaning.
Thoroughly rinse the coffee pot and the plastic
lter several times in clean water and allow to dry.
Avoid strong detergents or solvents or the taste of
your coffee may be adversely affected.

After all the components have been washed and
dried, re-assemble the coffee maker and stow it safely
out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children.

We recommend the following descaling periods:
Soft water area Every 6 months
Medium hard water area Every 2 – 3 months
Hard water area Every 6 – 8 weeks
Fill the water tank with one part vinegar to three
parts cold water.
Switch the coffee maker on: during cleaning the
appliance may produce more steam than normal.
When the water level has gone down to half the
original level, switch the unit off. Wait until the
liquid has stopped dripping into the pot, remove
the lter and pot and allow the liquid to stand for
5 minutes to cool.
Return the pot to the hot plate and replace lter.
Switch on the coffee maker and this time let all
the liquid empty into the pot. After dripping has
stopped, switch off and discard the contents of the
pot.
Allow the appliance to cool for 0 minutes.
Replace the pot. Rinse the unit by brewing several
pots of fresh cold water.
Wash the pot and lter in mild soapy water; rinse
thoroughly.
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry all
the parts.


for safety and to reduce the risk of injury or electrical
shock. Read all the instructions carefully before using
your coffee maker and keep them for future reference.
Unplug the coffee maker from the mains supply
when not in use, or before cleaning any part of the
appliance.
This coffee maker is for indoor household use only.
Do not use it for professional catering, or outdoors.
Do not immerse the coffee maker base unit or the
electrical cord or plug in liquids.
Do not use the coffee maker near a source of heat
or in damp or wet conditions or on an unstable
surface.
Never let children operate this appliance. Close
supervision is necessary when this appliance is
used near children.
Make sure that the power cord does not touch any
hot surface or overhang the edge of your work
surface.
When unplugging, hold the plug top, not the
power cord.
Do not use attachments or accessories which are
not recommended by the manufacturer. They may
cause malfunction or injury.
Unauthorised dismantling or servicing will void the
warranty. There are no user serviceable parts in
this unit.
Precautions When Operating Your Coffee
Maker
Caution! Do not leave the coffee maker switched
on unless the pot contains coffee and is on the hot
plate.
The hot plate and the coffee pot become very hot,
danger of scalding!
Never open the lid of the water tank while coffee
is being percolated. Danger of scalding!
The water tanks should be lled only with cold
water.
Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance or any attachment has been
damaged. If the power cord is damaged it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, the nearest
service agent or a qualied person.
Do not use the coffee maker for any purpose not
expressly specied in this manual. Never place
foreign objects in any part of the appliance.


Your appliance is covered by a warranty for 
months from the date of purchase. If a fault develops
during this period, please return the unit to your
nearest Tesco store together with the original receipt
as proof of purchase. This warranty in no way affects
your consumer rights.

with household waste. Please recycle where facilities
exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for
recycling advice.

Before using this appliance ensure that the voltage of
your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on
the rating plate of the appliance.
The appliance cord is terminated with a UK approved
mains plug tted with a 3A fuse. If the fuse needs to
be replaced, an ASTA or BSI approved BS36 fuse
rated at 3A must be used. If you need to change
the fuse in a non-wireable plug, the fuse cover must
be tted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged the
appliance must not be used until a suitable cover is
obtained and tted. It is important that the fuse cover
tted corresponds with the colour marking on the base
of the plug.
If you need to change the mains plug, remove the fuse
and dispose of the old plug safely immediately after
cutting it from the cord.
Connecting A Mains Plug
The wires in the mains leads are coloured in
accordance with the code:
Blue: NEUTRAL
Brown: LIVE
Green& Yellow: EARTH
As these colours may not correspond to the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:

BLUE BROWN
The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the
terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE
or BLACK. The wire coloured BROWN must be
connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or
coloured BROWN or RED. The wire coloured GREEN
& YELLOW must be connected to the terminal marked
with the letter E or coloured GREEN or GREEN &
YELLOW or marked with the Earth Symbol .
