The LG Direct Drive motor is so clever it has a unique magnet system to
rotate the drum. The motor has no brush which is why it is super quiet
and no belt or pulley which enhances durability. This super motor is then
joined directly to the drum without additional parts, creating a perfectly
balanced unit.

Less creasing: The bigger drums in LG Direct Drive washing machines help
to prevent creases and damage caused by excessive rubbing in machines
with smaller drums.

NEW DRUM AND WAVED LIFTER DESIGN
Avoid wasteful energy consumption.
The drum on LG washing machines has been designed with a surface
texture that increases the amount of contact with the fabrics in your wash.
This creates a better washing action to remove more dirt and stains. The
drum perforations also help to increase the speed of water circulation for
more cleaning power and to stop clothes from sticking and creasing at the
end of the wash cycle.
During a wash cycle, the Waved Lifter feature moves the clothes from the
bottom to the top of the drum. This creates a more powerful “pounding
effect” which helps to separate dirt and stains from fabrics and gives your
clothes a deeper clean.
SHOWER SPRAY
The Shower Spray is a circulating shower function that repeatedly pumps
water from the bottom of the drum to the top where it is sprayed into the
drum during the washing and rinsing process. The Shower Spray ensures
detergent is completely dissolved, improving wash performance. It
significantly reduces water consumption which means less electricity is
needed to heat up the water. It reduces running costs, saving on energy and
water bills.

With our new technology Steam Generator you get remarkable savings in water
and energy consumption.
STEAM SAVES WATER
Steam particles are smaller than water droplets and can penetrate fabrics
better. This improves the washing performance and the water consumption.
LG Steam Direct Drive will reduce water consumption by as much as 19%
when compared to a similar non-steam LG machine and up to 29% when
compared to a conventional 8 kg capacity washing machine.
STEAM SAVES ENERGY
Conventional machines consume more water than the LG Steam Direct
Drive Washer and require more energy to both heat up and circulate. With
steam, less energy is needed because a smaller amount of water is used.
The dual spray system releases simultaneously steam and water into the
drum improving heating efficiency and time. Over the course of one year’s
laundry, this translates to a savings of one month’s water and energy bills.
That’s good for your pocket as well as the environment.
LG Steam Direct Drive will reduce energy consumption by as much as 21%
when compared to a conventional 8kg capacity washing machine. The
machine is energy rated at A++. This is 20% more efficient than the A class
standard (0.19 kWh/kg) in the A-G energy rating system.

Steam Direct Drive
SPA CLEAN CLOTHES WITH STEAM
Steam is the most intense form of cleaning because steam molecules are
1600 times smaller than water particles allowing them to penetrate right into
the fabric and remove far more dirt than a normal wash. Steam Cleaning will
remove ingrained dirt from anything – giving even the grubbiest sports
kit a makeover.
Unique Steam refresh function gives you less ironing
We’ve all been in that situation. You need your clothes cleaned and ironed,
but you just don’t have the time. Now, thanks to Steam Refresh, you simply
place the garments in your machine and 20 minutes later creases and
odours are significantly reduced. Rather than use detergent and water,
Steam Refresh harnesses the gentle power of steam to remove odours and
creases, saving you time and trouble.
BETTER WASHING PERFORMANCE
The tumbling washing action along with the adjustable water temperatures
result in a superior washing performance.
Steam penetrates deeper into your wash. Steam molecules are smaller than
those of water, so steam gets in between fabric fibres. Because each type of
stain has a different optimum wash temperature, steam raises the
temperature in steps to allocate enough time to remove each stain stype.
Water cannot do this.

The mites, pollen, fungus and pet hair in fabric are often the cause of your
family’s allergies. Unlike boiling water, steam can maintain the optimum heat
required to dissolve away allergens. Compared to conventional machines, the
British Allergy Foundation proved that we remove more common
household allergens.

SPACE EFFICIENT
LG Steam Direct Drive Washer is only big on the Inside. It still remains the
standard size and can fit into any home.
The drum surface boost cleaning power and the waved lifts the dirt of cloths.
The surface texture of the Embossing Drum increases the amount of contact
with the fabric. This creates a better washing action and removes more dirt
and stains. The perforations help to increase the speed of water circulation
throughout the wash for even more cleaning power.
These perforations also stop your clothes from sticking fast with creases at
the end of the wash. The Waved Lifter feature moves the clothes from the
bottom to the top of the drum, creating a more powerful “pounding effect”.
This effect helps to separate dirt and stains from fabrics and gives clothes a
deeper clean.

From bulky items to small items, difficult stains or delicate fabrics, your
LG Washing machine will have a washing programme that’s specially
designed for it. Choose from:
BABY CARE
Babies need to be protected from harmful bacteria and allergens whilst baby skin is sensitive and
easily irritated by detergent. So any baby wash needs to be gentle and effective. Baby clothes also
get washed often and are easily damaged.
The LG Baby Care programme destroys and removes allergens and clears all traces of Detergent.
It performs a Medic Rinse – Warm Rinse (40° C), Rinse More (5 times) and High water level rinse.
BOILING CARE
This programme is for clothes with difficult protein stains like chocolate or milk on them.
BIO CARE
This is for frequently washed and easily damaged clothes.
HAND WASH/WOOL
For delicate, machine washable woollen items* (*Always follow the manufacturers instructions)
DELICATE
Delicates that can’t stand up to heat or friction need a delicate wash. Perfect for underwear.
SPIN
This programme is for spinning your laundry.
COTTON
This is a general wash programme that most suited to washing cotton fabrics.
COTTON QUICK
This is a shorter version of the COTTON programme.
SYNTHETIC
For washing synthetics like polyester and nylon.
BED COVER
This wash enables you to wash heavy fabrics like bed covers and curtains.
BULKY
If you have large loads, this is the programme to use.
DUVET
For blankets, curtains and lighter quilts.
QUICK 30
When you need a quick wash, this cycle takes just 30 minutes, including wash, rinse and spin.
RINSE+SPIN
If you are hand washing or have wet clothes you can use this setting for rinsing and spinning.
RINSE+, RINSE++
It adds one or two extra rinses to the default normal rinse times in the wash programme.
(The number of rinses is fixed depending on washing cycles).
MEDIC RINSE
This programme minimises detergent residue. It uses a high level rinse and warm (40° C) rinse
which dissolves residues, lifts them and washes them away with warm water.
RINSE HOLD
Once the rinse is complete this function adds another rinse. It does not drain the drum but waits
for the user to initiate the spin cycle.
REFRESH
This programme uses a fine steam spray to penetrate fibres, remove creases and eliminate
odours. It also works to soften fabrics. It is fast, effective and eco-friendly.
NORMAL+ HOLD
Once the rinse is complete this function does not drain the drum but waits for the user to
initiate the spin cycle.
INTENSIVE
This programme can be selected to increase the wash time for badly soiled items.
CREASE CARE
If the wash is likely to sit in the drum for a while after the wash has finished, this programme will
prevent the laundry from becoming wrinkled.
INTENSIVE 60
Intensive 60 is a 60 minute wash programme that gives a superior wash performance when
time is not on your side. It defaults to 60 degrees for removing ground-in dirt but can be
manually changed to wash at cold, 30 or 40 degrees.
HALF LOAD
The Half Load option overrides the machine's automatic load detection system, reducing the
length of the wash cycle whilst giving you an optimum wash performance.
