Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System
The RKE transmitter is used to
remotely lock and unlock the doors
from up to 60 m (195 ft) away from
the vehicle.
K : Press to unlock the driver
door or all doors depending on the
personalization setting. See Vehicle
Personalization on page 529.
Q : Press to lock all doors.
Lock and unlock feedback can
be personalized. See Vehicle
Personalization on page 529.
V : Press and hold to unlock the
trunk.

Remote Vehicle Start
With this feature the engine can be
started from outside of the vehicle.
Starting the Engine Using
Remote Start
To start the engine using the remote
start feature:
1. Press
Q on the RKE transmitter.
2. Press and hold
/ for about
two seconds. The turn signal
lamps will briefly flash to confirm
the vehicle has been started.
The parking lamps will turn on
and remain on as long as the
engine is running. The vehicle's
doors will be locked.
3. After entering the vehicle during
a remote start, insert and turn
the key to ON/RUN to drive the
vehicle.
After a remote start, the engine
will automatically shut off after
10 minutes unless a time extension
has been done or the vehicle's key
is inserted into the ignition switch
and turned to ON/RUN.
Shutting the Engine Off After a
Remote Start
To manually shut off the engine
after a remote start, do any of the
following:

Press / until the parking lamps
turn off.
.
Turn on the hazard warning
flashers.
.
Insert the vehicle's key into the
ignition switch and turn the
switch to ON/RUN and then
back to LOCK/OFF.

Seat Adjustment
Manual Seats
To adjust a manual seat:
1. Lift the bar to unlock the seat.
2. Slide the seat to the desired
position and release the bar.
3. Try to move the seat back and
forth to be sure the seat is
locked in place.

Head Restraint
Adjustment
Do not drive until the head restraints
for all occupants are installed and
adjusted properly.
To achieve a comfortable seating
position, change the seatback
recline angle as little as necessary
while keeping the seat and the
head restraint height in the proper
position.

Sensing System for
Passenger Airbag
The passenger sensing system will
turn off the right front passenger
frontal and seatmounted side
impact airbags under certain
conditions. The driver airbags
and roofrail airbags are not
affected by this.
The passenger airbag status
indicator will be visible in the
rearview mirror when the vehicle
is started.

Mirror Adjustment
Center Console Control Shown,
Driver Door Control Similar
To adjust the mirrors:
1. With the ignition on, move the
selector switch to the left or right
to choose either the driver or
passenger side mirror.
2. Press the arrows located on the
four-way control pad to adjust
the mirror.
3. Adjust each outside mirror to
see a little of the vehicle, and
the area behind the vehicle.
Keep the selector switch in the
center position when not adjusting
either outside mirror.
Manually fold the mirrors inward
to prevent damage when going
through an automatic car wash.
To fold, push the mirror toward the
vehicle. Push the mirror outward
to return it to its original position.

Interior Mirror
Adjust the mirror for a clear view of
the area behind the vehicle. Hold
the mirror in the center to move it
up, down, or side to side. To reduce
headlamp glare from behind, turn
the lever (A). Return the lever back
to its original position as soon as
the glare is gone.
The vehicle has a manual rearview
mirror with a compass display.
The compass button is at the
bottom of the mirror. For more
information, see Compass on
page 54.
Steering Wheel
Adjustment
The adjustment lever is located on
the left side of the steering column.
To adjust the steering wheel:
1. Pull the lever (A) down.
2. Move the steering wheel up
or down and in or out for a
comfortable position.
3. Pull the lever (A) up to lock the
steering wheel in place.
Do not adjust the tilt and telescope
lever while driving.
Interior Lighting
Dome Lamps
There are front and rear dome
lamps.
+ : Press to turn the lamp on
or off.
& : Press to automatically turn on
the lamps when a door is opened,
the vehicle is unlocked, or the key
is removed from the ignition.

inoperative function, the dome
lamps will not turn on when a
door is opened.

Exterior Lighting
The exterior lamps control is on the
instrument panel to the left of the
steering wheel.
The exterior lamps control has four
positions:
9 : Turns the headlamps, parking
lamps, and DRL off.
AUTO: Turns the headlamps on
and off automatically. They come on
at normal brightness, along with the
parking lamps, taillamps, license
plate lamps, instrument panel lights,
and sidemarker lamps.
;: Turns on the parking lamps and
other exterior lamps.
2: Turns on the headlamps and
other exterior lamps.

Windshield Wiper/Washer
The windshield wiper/washer lever
is located on the right side of the
steering column.
The ignition must be turned to the
ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY
position to use the windshield
wipers.
MIST: Hold the lever in this position
for continuous wiping cycles.
( : Use to turn the wipers off.
INT: For a delayed wiping cycle,
turn the INT band up or down for
more frequent or less frequent
wipes.
The frequency of wipes also
depends on the vehicle speed.
As the vehicle speed increases,
so does the wiper rate.
1: Use for slow wipes.
2: Use for fast wipes.
Windshield Washer
Pull the lever toward you to spray
washer fluid on the windshield.
