HACCBOX Low-voltage Component Enclosure — Installation and Setup
CAUTION: Make sure all power is off
before wiring. Do not energize wiring
until the unit is fully assembled.
Conform to all applicable codes.
Environment
• Mount in an indoor area
• 32 to 131°F (0 to 55°C)
• 95% relative humidity, non-condensing
Mounting
The unit may be mounted anywhere on
the dataline, subject to any dataline
length limitations. (Refer to dataline
specifications)
The unit is shipped assembled. Before
mounting the tub, it is necessary to
remove the interior. Unscrew the two
nuts and washers securing the interior to
the studs at the top and bottom of the
tub (see A in photo top right), and slide
the interior forward and out.
The tub should be level, plumb and
rigidly installed with hardware sufficient
to hold 50 lbs. minimum. With the cover
open, the product label should be in the
lower right corner of the inside cover.
(see HACCBOX view on the front page)
Install the Power Supply
(if required)
Before reinstalling the interior in the tub,
mount the power supply to the opening
in the interior frame (see B in photo top
right). Tighten the captive screws to hold
the unit in place. Plug the 5-pin yellow
low-voltage connector to the power
terminal on lower left of the circuit board
(J1 in photo right).
Install the Interior
Slide the interior back into the tub and
secure it to the studs with the screws
and washers.
Wire the power supply as shown to the
right. Refer to the installation instructions
for the HPSMxxx power supply for more
information.
Make sure that all line- and low-voltage
wiring is confined to the appropriate
areas (see photo above).
Connect Dataline De-
vices
Mount dataline devices such as the
HCLK8SS Network Clock or HUSM8SS
Universal Switch Interface Module to the
DIN rail in the low voltage section of the
accessory box. Connect the dataline
cable supplied with the unit to the 4-pin
Local Dataline connector as shown to
the left. Dataline devices may also be
connected to the Local Dataline termi-
nals using HDLW4(P) dataline wire.
Wire Other Low-Voltage
Devices
If the accessory box is being used for
non-dataline devices, simply mount the
device(s) to the plate in the low-voltage
section, using the pre-drilled holes
provided. Wire as directed in the unit’s
instruction manual.
