SEALANT
NOTICE: Silicone and acrylic latex sealant are not recommended due to
potential adhesion and shrinkage, which could lead to leaks. For best
results, use an advanced kitchen and bath polymer sealant such as:
- DAP
®
3.0™ Kitchen, Bath & Plumbing High Performance Sealant
- Red Devil
®
RD3000™ Advanced Kitchen & Bath Sealant
- ECO-BOND
®
Kitchen-Bath-Plumbing Adhesive and Sealant
APPLICATION TIPS
Use painter’s tape to mask off the seam to help make cleaning up
easier. Maintain a constant speed when applying the bead. Use a caulk
tool or a plastic spoon to work the sealant into the joint. Wetting the
tool with denatured alcohol will help create a smooth nish. Follow the
directions on the back of the tube for cure time.
NOTICE: Certain chemicals and cleaners may deteriorate acrylic
surfaces, causing cracks and, potentially, property damage. After
application/installation, clean up the product surface and remove
any excess sealant with denatured alcohol only. Do not use solvents
(turpentine, lacquer thinner, mineral spirits, paint thinner, MEK, xylene,
acetone, naphtha, etc.).
