Suitable as RF Power Amplifier for Mid and High Power FM
Stations from 3.500W to 55.000W and Intermediary Driver
Amplifier for XkWs Tube Stages.
The PowerCell 3.5kW is a RF Power Amplifier, suitable for FM
broadcast applications. It is broadband “no tune”, this means the RF
power level stays same independently of tuned frequency in the FM
exciter.
A powerful RF low pass filter was included in the PowerCell 3.5kW, it is
an important stage in a RF amplifier. This filter cut off all frequencies
above 110MHz. The attenuation of 2nd harmonic is better than 75dB.
The PowerCell 3.5kW has 3500W RF output power with 5-10W RF
input. You can connect the EX15 MiniStation in this amplifier and you’ll
get 3500W continuous RF power level on the output. Also, the version
PowerCell 3.5kW/LD (note: LD means “Low driving” and HD means
“High-driving” inputs) you can connect any 600mW exciter, this
version has a RF driver built-in.
The power output is adjustable from 35W, you can choose what power
you need, by pressing the buttons UP/DOWN located on the front
panel, very easy, digitaly.
A thrue RMS wattmeter was included in this version. Level of
Forwarded power and Reverse power are measured in real-time
through the LCD graphic display located at the panel of PowerCell
3.5kW. There is a mechanical cavity measuring the RF levels with high
accuracy.
The equipment is totally protected against fails: when you start the
PowerCell 3.5kW the RF power goes increasing softly, after
approximately 1 minute the total power is delivered to the load
(antenna). If the equipment find a high level of VSWR the equipment
will work in “FOLDBACK” and a message will shown on the LCD,
saying there is a problem in your antenna. High levels of current and
voltage are detected and the PowerCell 3.5kW will protect itself, not
damaging the RF stage (LDMOS transistors, using 6 x BLF574 from
NXP Semiconductors).
The equipment counts with progressive forced ventilation, this means
the internal temperature stays same independently of external
temperature, and if this external temperature is above 55ºC, the
equipment will reduce the power level until the normal temperature on
heatsink is stablished again.
The PowerCell 3.5kW is a reliable equipment, never stopping to
transmit, although in extreme conditions.
The AC input is 220V Single-phase (Three-phase available under
request) double “Switched Mode Power Supply” ZVS system, that
allows the maximum efficiency (about 95%) assuring high power
economy. Sinteck introduce the system of “Inserting Power Supply”,
where the Power Supply System is inserted and may be changed
easily.
