Safety Guide
This section contains important safety and handling information for DA-300E.
Read all safety information below and handling information before using DA-300E to avoid injury. Keep the DA-
300E User Manual for future reference.
Important Safety Information
Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or damage.
1. Handling DA-300E: Do not bend, drop, crush, puncture, incinerate, or open DA-300E.
2. Avoiding water and wet locations: Do not use DA-300E in rain, or near washbasins or other wet locations.
Take care not to spill any food or liquid into DA-300E. In case DA-300E gets wet, unplug all cables, turn
DA-300E off, and allow it to dry thoroughly before turning it on again.
3. Repairing DA-300E: Never attempt to repair DA-300E yourself. DA-300E does not contain any user
serviceable parts.
4. Avoiding hearing damage: Permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones are used at high volume. Set
the volume to a safe level. You can adapt over time to a higher volume of sound that may sound normal but
can be damaging to your hearing. If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech, stop listening
and have your hearing checked. The louder the volume, the less time is required before your hearing could
be affected.

Important Handling Information
1. Carrying DA-300E: DA-300E contains sensitive components, including in some cases, a hard drive. Do not
bend, drop, or crush DA-300E. If you are concerned about scratching DA-300E, you can use one of the
many cases sold separately.
2. Using connectors and ports: Never force a connector into a port. Check for obstructions on the port. If the
connector and port dont join with reasonable ease, they probably dont match. Make sure that the
connector matches the port and that you have positioned the connector correctly in relation to the port.
3. Keeping DA-300E within acceptable temperatures: Operate DA-300E in a place where the temperature
is always between 0º and 45º C (32º to 95º F). DA-300E play time might temporarily shorten in low-
temperature conditions.
4. Keeping the outside of DA-300E clean: To clean DA-300E, unplug all cables, turn DA-300E off. Then use
a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Dont use window cleaners,
household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean DA-300E.

Starting Up
1. Open the battery compartment cover and insert batteries. Or connect the
USB adaptor to the USB port on DA-300E using the USB cable for
charging the built-in battery.
: How to Charge
When DA-300E is unpacked for the first time, please charge the battery for at least 6
hours. Only after the battery is charged fully, DA-300E can be operated normally.
Please recharge the battery regularly to maintain properly operation or prepare the
spare batteries.
2. Connect the earphones into the earphone port.
3. Hold down the “POWER” button for 2 seconds to turn DA-300E on. The backlight will come on and you will
see the ’Welcome to Arion’ logo on the display.
4. During the first time usage or when there is no preset station, DA-300E will be switched into DAB mode and
automatically scan available stations.
5. The list of available stations is stored in alphabetical order, and then plays the first searched station.
z If you encounter with any problems or have any questions, please contact your local product distributor.
z To find out how to use other functions including changing DAB stations, using radio/MP3, recording to
internal memory, or changing settings, please read through the rest of this manual.

DA-300E provides 4 modes such as DAB, MP3, FM Radio, and Voice record.

DAB Mode
When you first power on DA-300E or switch into DAB mode, DA-300E performs an autoscan to find all the DAB
stations available in your area or tunes the stations.
<DAB LCD Screen>
To listen to DAB at any other time, press the “MODE” button and select the ‘DAB’ mode using the “OK” button.

<DAB Menu>
To set the advanced DAB menus such as Scan, Equalizer, etc., press the “MENU” button in the ‘DAB’ mode.
Function Button
Changing stations 1. Press the “< or >” button.
2. Press the “OK” button.
Adjusting Volume 1. Press the or ” button.

Presetting a station 1. Press the “PRESET” button.
2. Press the “< or >” button to search the desired preset number.
3. Press the “PRESET” button to preset the station.
Recalling a Preset
station
1. Press the “PRESET” button.
2. Press the “< or >” button to search to the desired preset station.
3. Press the “OK” button to listen to the station.
Time-shift Function
1. Press the “OK” button to use the time-shift function.
2. Press the “< or >” button to move to the desired position.
DAB station
Information
1. Press the “INFO” button.
2. Press the “INFO” button repeatedly until your desired option appears.
Recording Radio 1. Press the “REC” button.
2. Press the “REC” button again to stop recording.
If the DAB station signal is low, this function doesn’t work. The maximum
recording time is 7~8 hours according to the data rate and the internal memory
space.
To listen to the recorded file,
1. Press the “MODE” button, and select the ‘MP3’ mode using the “OK” button.
2. Press the “OK” button to play the file.

MP3 Mode
MP3 mode enables you to play MP3, Audio book, and recorded radio files at anywhere. DA-300E has an
internal memory and supports the SD type memory card.
To insert an SD card, push the card in the SD Card slot on the side. To remove a card, push the card in slightly
and it will pop out so you can remove it.

<MP3 LCD Screen>
To listen to MP3 at any other time, press the “MODE” button and select the ‘MP3’ mode using the “OK” button.

<MP3 Menu>
To set the advanced MP3 menus such as Play mode, Equalizer, etc., press the “MENU” button in the ‘MP3’
mode.
Function Button
Playing MP3 Files 1. Press the “OK” button on the desired MP3 file to listen to the file.
2. Press the “OK” button to stop the playback.
3. Press the “< or >” button to select another file.

Repeating Fixed Section
(AB)
1. Press the “PRESET” button to set the start position of repeating block
during the playback(A).
2. Press the “PRESET” button again to set the end position of repeating
block(B). The ‘A-B’ icon will show on the top left hand side of the LCD until
the repeat mode is turned off.
3. Press the “PRESET” button to return to the normal mode.
Adjusting Volume 1. Press the or ” button.
Managing MP3 Files
1. Connect DA-300E to PC using the USB cable to copy or delete files.
2. Display the folders automatically, and then copy or delete files to DA-
300E.
3. You can eject DA-300E by clicking the ‘Safely Remove Hardware’ icon in
the Windows system tray and selecting DA-300E.
4. There is other way to delete files. Press the “INFO” button, press the “
button to move to the desired folder, and then press the “>” button at the
desired file. Finally press the “MENU” button twice to delete it.
: It’s important not to disconnect DA-300E from PC while files
are being loaded. Don’t disconnect DA-300E if you see the “Do not remove”
message. It could damage files on DA-300E.

Searching File You can search the desired file by Artist, Album, Track, etc.
1. Press the “INFO” button to enter the searching mode.
2. Press the “>” button continuously until selecting the desired type. If you
want to return to the previous status, press the “<” button.
3. Press the “>” button to play it.
Adding to Favorite List 1. Press the “INFO” button to add a file to the favorite list.
2. Press the “>” button continuously until selecting the desired list.
If you want to return to the previous status, press the “<” button.
3. Press the “MENU” button, and then press the “OK” button on the ‘Favorite’
menu.
4. Add the file to the specific Favorite list.
Deleting Favorite List 1. Press the “INFO” button to delete a file from the favorite list.
2. Press the “>” button continuously until selecting the desired file. If you
want to return to the previous status, press the “<” button.
3. Press the “MENU” button, and then press the “OK” button on the ‘UNLIST’
menu.
4. Delete the file from the specific Favorite list.

Initializing SD Card
You can use the SD card after the initialization. If there is a SD card reading
error, you should initialize your SD card.
1. Insert the SD card into the SD slot.
2. Initialize the SD card automatically and sort the available file. It will take
time according to file size and numbers.
3. Press the “MODE” button, and then select the ‘MP3’ mode using the “OK”
button.
Changing Playback File
Type
You can change the playback file type between MP3 and WAV.
1. Press the “INFO” button to change the playback file type.
2. Press the “>” button or the ‘OK’ button continuously until moving to the
‘Recording’ directory. If you want to return to the previous status, press the
“<” button.
3. Display the file list, and then press the “>” button or the ‘OK’ button to play
the desired file.
