1 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Two versions are available, the Light version consists of a unit of six MOVING D-R receivers
included in a single containing rack and an antenna splitter AS6W; the Pro version in addition to
the Light system includes one HUB800 and one RPS10.
Following the application notes of this document you can get the best performance by this system
in any situation.
Therefore, the Touring Rack consists of the following devices:
AS6W
Antenna splitter, on UHF band (470 to 870 MHz) with six outputs, one per each MOVING D-R.
This accessory is always included in the MOVING D Touring rack and use is made of it to distribute
the radio-frequency signal of two antennae toward the six receivers without causing any
attenuation or deterioration of signal.
The AS6W antenna distributor contains also a filter intended for eliminating the frequency bands
below 470 MHz (VHF) and above 870 MHz (cellphones, WI FI) and, by means of phantom power
on RF connectors of BNC type, it can fed also other accessories described below.
MOVING D-ANT (Kit wide band antennae OWBA + stand adapter)
Omnidirectional passive antennae on UHF band with support for the microphone rod.
Antennae of omnidirectional type; can receive all frequencies of UHF band.
HUB800
Device for data connection between six receivers and an external computer.
This device, present only in the Pro version is connected to the six receivers with a special cable
and permits their management by means of an interface program in Windows Xp, Vista, Windows7
or Windows8 environment by means of an external computer connected through Ethernet or USB.
MOVING D-R Receiver
Single receiver module, up to six of them can be mounted in a single Touring Rack.
The receiver must be associated to a handheld transmitter MOVING D-H or bodypack transmitter
MOVING D-B; it permits to analyze the transmission frequencies so as to display and make use of
the ones having the least noise.
It is provided with a USB connection for the connection to a computer.
When it is mounted in the Touring Rack, the radio signal is fed to it by AS6W, otherwise a pair of
antennae OWBA can be connected to the connectors located on the back.
RPS10 -Rack Power Supply
Rack Power Supply it can supply all the devices located in the Touring Rack.
This device is used only in the Pro version, it is connected to the HUB800 that allows the
management of its single supply outputs.
RDA800W
Directive passive antenna on UHF band.
Antenna of directive type, with fin shape; it can receive all frequencies of UHF band with an
increase of 8 dB approx.
AA800W
Low-noise antenna amplifier on UHF band.
This device is fed by means of the phantom power of AS6W; by means of a 4-position switch
located on the device, the increase can be regulated on 4 levels: 5, 10, 15, 20 dB in function of
needs.
UPA800
Antenna attenuator. Also this accessory is fed by the AS6W distributor and, by means of a 4-
position switch located on the device, the attenuation can be regulated on 4 levels: 2, 6, 12, 18 dB
in function of the application.

2 RADIOMICROPHONE AND RADIO INTERFERENCE
The presence of an always higher number of digital television stations (DTV) operating on the
same frequency band of all the kinds of radio-microphones make their use more and more critical.
This chapter includes a short description of the two kinds of radio interference that, to be precise,
involve all the radio-microphones, independently from their manufacturer.
These kinds of interference can be called “TYPE 1” and “TYPE 2” as reference in all the application
notes.
TYPE 1
RADIO INTERFERENCE DUE TO TV STATIONS AND OTHER SOURCES
This kind of interference is due to the presence of digital or analog TV stations or other radio-
frequency sources present on the place where use is made of radio-microphones. These
interferences can vary in number and intensity in every installation.
By means of the Frequency Scanning Function, both automatic and manual, an accurate scanning
of the present noises is possible and this permits to select the channels with the least noise.
Note:
in order to get a correct report of interferences, the scanning shall be carried out when all the
system is on, for even the light system can generate noises.
TYPE 2 :
INTERMODULATION INTERFERENCE.
This kind of interference is due to the intermodulation effects of the same radio-microphones.
They are spurious unwanted interferences generated by the mathematical sum and subtraction of
the frequencies of the radio-microphones in use.
The higher the number of utilized radio-microphones, the higher the number of intermodulation
effects.
For this reason, nowadays higher preparation and technique are required to the users, besides
more advanced technologies in the manufacturing of the dame devices.
By means of MOVING D system, the filtering type can be selected; this permits to choose whether
to prefer the number of channels that can be used or a higher immunity to interference.
The MOVING D system makes use of the radio digital transmission technology that is the most
advanced to reduce these interferences effectively and, therefore, this permits to use several radio-
microphones at the same time and in safe conditions.
3 WAY OF USE
This chapter shows some situations in which use can be made of the MOVING D system and
explains how to optimize its use.
In an ideal condition of use of the system, the transmitter always works in view of the receiver
(Fig.1).

Fig.2 shows a real event in which the Touring Rack antennae are covered by people and this
condition can compromise the correct working of the system.
A solution to solve above-said situation is shown in Fig.3: antennae can be positioned on common
microphone rods by means of the special Stand Adapter so as to raise their position and, then, to
improve the reception by overcoming the obstacle; finally, connect the antennae by means of the
special BNC cable to the Touring Rack antenna input.
The advent of the terrestrial digital signal and the always higher use of the Wireless technology
involves a huge increase of the radio signals (Fig.4).
This means that, besides the signal of our transmitter, the receiver will receive also the signals of
many other disturbing signals.

To solve this problem, the use of RDA800W directive antennae is suggested.
As shown in Fig. 5, by means of directive antennae a selection of the existing signals is carried out,
that is only the area included in the antenna reception cone is concerned.
An alternative solution for the problems of Fig.4 can consist in moving the antennae closer to the
stage (or directly on the stage) and carry their signal to the Touring Rack by means of a BNC
cable.
Consider that, with this kind of operation, that is making use of a long cable to connect the
antennae to the receiver, a strong attenuation will be generated.
In order to reduce this problem, we suggest to make use of AA800W, that have the purpose of
amplifying the signal received from the antenna, so as to permit it to cover a longer section of
cable.
Note: AA800W shall be inserted immediately on the antenna output; moreover, the use of several
amplifiers in cascade connection is not to recommend, for this operation can compromise the
working of the whole system.
Note: In case the presence of noises can make the use of the system difficult on any frequency, a
reduction of the area covered by the receiver is got but, as indicated above, the antennae can be
positioned closer to the transmitter and, in contrast to the analog systems, no interference noise
will occur.
In case the transmitter signal is lost, the audio will be switched immediately to Mute; as soon as the
signal is available again correctly, the system switches back from Mute; this fact avoids the usual
background noise that can be heard when making use of analog systems.

Note: The use of AA 800W is useful also when the transmitter is very far from the receiver and
there is no way to move the antennae closer (Fig.8), in this particular situation the use of directional
antennae and amplifier can help the reception of the transmitter signal, provided that the signal
remains in a limited area.
4 TRANSMITTER AT VARIOUS DISTANCES
During the events of any kind, the transmitters will be never at the same distance from the Touring
Rack, see Fig. 9; in these situations, it can happen that the signal of the closer transmitters is so
strong as to prevent the receiver from receiving the weaker signals of the farther transmitters.

To solve this situation, we suggest to make use of the UPA800 signal attenuator on the antenna
output cable (Fig.10 and 11).
This operation involves an attenuation of all the received signal but it also avoid that receivers are
darkened by closer transmitters, still managed to successfully receive a weak signal .
