Problem:-

If the Olympus E-500 has old firmware, the L1 kit lens (Leica D lens 14-50mm)

doesn't work properly.( The combination of E-1/ E-330 with Leica kit lens has no

problem) .

Cause:-

The old firmware of E-500 doesn’t meet the body / lens communication regulation

based on the Four Thirds standard.

How to solve the Problem:-

Solution method is updating the E-500 camera body firmware to over Ver 1.2.

If you have this incompatibility, please update your firmware. You can get latest

firmware from Olympus website or from Olympus customer support.
