1 General Description
The AS3636 is a highly integratet photoflash charger
including IGBT driver, inductive DCDC boost autofocus/
video LED driver, an inductor LED driver and it includes
system level ESD protection and a breakable fuse.
The AS3636 includes flash timeout, over- and
undervoltage, overtemperatur and LED short circuit
protection functions. To reduce production test time a
broken coil test is implemented.
The AS3636 is controlled by an I2C interface with a
dedicated STROBE input. Additionally the TORCH
input controls the torch function. An interrupt output is
available to signal an error condition to the controller.
The device includes 11 Bytes EEPROM, and an
automatic life time counter to count the number of
flashes performed.
The AS3636 is available in a space-saving WL-CSP
package and operates over the -30ºC to +85ºC
temperature range.
Warning: Lethal voltages are present on applications
using AS3636! Do not operate without
training to handle high voltages.

Change to the E²Prom tab:
o Values can be written to the E²Prom by using the pull down-menus
o select the Switch- Current:
o Charge Voltage Selection:
Per default the Charge Voltage Selection is set to 28.5V, this results that the output
voltage on the main capacitor is charged to ~260V. In order to guarantee flashing the
Charge Voltage selection needs to be set to 33V, which gives an output voltage of
320V.
Note:
In order not to damage the main capacitor due to high voltage (>330V) the Charge Voltage should be
checked with a voltmeter whenever changing the Charge Voltage Selection to high voltages.
For charging of the main capacitor, activate the “Charge”-checkbox , for automatic recharging, activate the
“Automatic recharge enable”-checkbox
Warning: L
ethal voltages are present on applications using AS3636! Do not
operate without training to handle high voltages.
