OPERATING WITHOUT A LIGHTING CONTROLLER - STAND ALONE
You can now operate the RoboColor II System in the Stand Alone mode which means
that the RoboColor II units will perform a pre-programmed performance at a pre-set speed
or triggered by sounds picked up by the microphone built into the RoboColor II Controller.
Before switching on the RoboColor II Controller, you will need to set the DIP switch
according to the chosen sequence (program). The sequence settings table on page 6
shows the various DIP switch settings for Stand Alone Sequences. E.g. switching on 1, 2
and 6 will make the RoboColor II System perform 'Demo 1 with music trig'.
Note: Some sequence settings shown on the Sequence Setting table are for service use
only and should not be chosen for light performances.
OPERATING WITH A MARTIN LIGHTING CONTROLLER
The way to get the most out of your RoboColor II System(s) is by controlling via a Martin
Lighting Controller. Because one RoboColor II System, consisting of up to four RoboColor
II units, only requires one controller channel you can control 32 RoboColor II units from
the 8-channel 2308 controller, 128 RoboColor II units from the 32-channel 2032 control-
ler and 512 RoboColor II units from the 128-channel 3032 Controller.
_ Connect the first RoboColor II System to your Martin Lighting Controller (2208/ 2308/
2501/2032/3032) using the XLR/XLR or XLR/DSUB cable which came with the light-
ing controller.
_If you are using one RoboColor II System only, then insert the male XLR termination
plug, which came with your lighting controller, into the unused XLR socket on the
RoboColor II System.
_If you are using other lighting units (RoboScans, RoboZaps etc.) with the lighting con-
troller they should be connected together with XLR/XLR cables. The last unit on the
link should be terminated with the male XLR termination plug.
_Set the DIP switch on each RoboColor II System to the desired controller channel as
shown in the address setting table on page 6. Make sure that none of the RoboColor
II Systems are set to Stand Alone mode.
_Switch on the RoboColor II Systems before you switch on the lighting controller. A
short start-up and test routine will be performed.
