KEYSWITCH
Thekeyswitch(7)ismountedontheinstrumentpaneltotherightofthesteeringcolumn(Figure12).Ithasthree
positions:OFF,ON,andSTART .
Tostartthevehicle,placetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALpositionandturnthekeytotheSTART
position,andholditthereuntiltheenginestarts.Activatethechoke(14)asnecessary.Iftheenginedoesnotstartafter
10to15seconds,releasethekeyandrepeattheprocedure.Oncetheenginestarts,releasethekeyanditwillreturn
totheONposition.Theenginewillidleinneutral.TheenginewillcontinuetoidleuntilthekeyisturnedtotheOFF

NOTE:WhenthekeyisturnedtotheOFFposition,themainvehiclesystemsaredisabled.Thekeyswitchmaybe
usedasanemergencystop.
ThekeycanberemovedonlywhenthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.
FORWARD/REVERSECONTROL
TheForward/Reversehandle(6)islocatedontherightsideoftheinstrumentpanel(Figure12).Thehandlehas
threedistinctpositions:FORWARD(A),NEUTRAL(B),andREVERSE(C).Pushthehandleuptooperatethevehicle
intheforwarddirection,orpullthehandledowntooperatethevehicleinreverse.Theenginecanbestartedonly
whenthehandleisintheNEUTRAL(middle)position.TheenginemustbeatidlebeforeshiftingtheForward/Reverse
handle.SeeprecedingWARNINGSandCAUTION.
Thisvehicleoperatesatareducedspeedinreverse.
ACCELERATORPEDAL
Theacceleratorpedal(1)isthepedalfarthesttotheright(Figure12).
WiththeenginerunningandtheForward/ReversehandleintheFORWARDorREVERSEposition,vehiclespeed
willincreaseastheacceleratorpedalispressed.Whentheacceleratorpedalisreleased,itwillreturntotheoriginal
positionandtheenginewillidle.SeeprecedingWARNINGSandCAUTION.
BRAKEPEDAL
Thebrakepedal(2)islocatedtotheimmediateleftoftheacceleratorpedal(Figure12).T osloworstopthevehicle,
pressthebrakepedal.
PARKBRAKEHANDLE
Theparkbrakehandle(5)islocatedbetweenthedriverandpassengerseats(Figure13).Toengagethepark
brake,rstapplypressuretothebrakepedal,thenpullupontheparkbrakehandleuntilhandlelatchesintoplace.
