ESAB Replacing Fan Assembly on the SVI 300i cvcc Power Source Assembly Instruction

Type
Assembly Instruction
The two Nidec A30322-10 fan assemblies used in the
SVI 300i cvcc power source were replaced by ebm
W2E142-BB01-01 fan assemblies starting with
MFI723195. If replacing the Nidec fan assemblies, pro-
ceed as follows:
Before replacing part, make sure all primary input
power to the power source is disconnected.
NOTE: The Nidec and ebm fans are interchangeable
so use the same mounting holes in the sheet
metal.
1. Remove cover.
2. Remove the four mounting screws from the rear
panel.
3. Cut tie wraps holding the wire harness to the rear
panel.
4. Disconnect Faston terminals with wires from fan ter-
minals. These terminals can be disconnected from
the fan through access holes in the sheet metal.
5. Pull the rear panel away from the machine (about 2
to 3 inches) to allow for fan access.
6. Remove the two screws holding each fan in place.

7. Remove both Nidec fans from the unit.
8. Cut off and discard the Faston terminals from the
black and white wires in the harness which were
connected to the fan. Strip .25 of the insulation
from these wires. Connect the provided mating ter-
minals to these wires using a crimping tool.
The Faston terminals of the wire harness should
not be connected directly to the fan terminals. If
this is done, the Faston terminals will come in con-
tact with the case of the SVI 300i. Although the
Faston terminals are insulated, the insulation is not
sufficient and failures may occur. The pigtails con-
nected to the fan terminals should be used for in-
stallation.
9. Mount the new ebm fans.
10.Connect Faston terminals from fan pigtails to the
mating terminals that were just connected to the
black and white fan wires.
11.Reassemble the rear panel.
12.Tie wrap the wire harness back onto the rear panel.
13.Reassemble the cover.
