Adaptor & Plug
The Sound Clarity Active Noise Canceling headphone is perfect for air travel, personal CD,
DVD, and MP3 Players, as well as computers and home stereo equipment. A dual-pin airline
adaptor and a standard 1/8th inch (3.5mm) plug are included to t various input jacks. The
maximum input voltage is 9Vrms. Simply insert the straight connector into the headphones
and plug the other end into the audio source. (Illustration A)
Note: Audio quality from airline in-ight entertainment systems, may not match the high
delity sound provided by home and portable audio devices.

USING the Active Noise Canceling (ANC) Feature: To activate the ANC, simply push the
power switch located on the left ear cup to the ON position. The LED indicator light should
glow green when the ANC has been activated. The ANC feature may be used either by
itself or in conjunction with an audio source. Additionally, the Sound Clarity Active Noise
Canceling headphone operates as a standard Passive Noise Canceling headphone when
the ANC is turned o.
SETTING THE VOLUME CONTROL: Long-term exposure to loud audio volume levels may
cause hearing damage. All Able Planet products include an in-line volume control to
enable you to “Turn it Down™”. So, remember to use the in-line volume control to adjust
the sound volume to a safe level.
Note: The volume setting has no eect on noise reduction.

Identify the left (L) and Right (R) designations located on each side of the headband. The
headband adjusts for a comfortable t by sliding the top and side of the headband apart
as seen in Illustration B. Place one hand on the top of the headband and the other hand on
the side of the headband and pull in opposite directions to adjust the size of the headband,
and then, place them on your head. Now you can make minor adjustments to create a
comfortable t.
Note: Pulling down aggressively on the ear cups may damage the headphone. You
may want to make several small adjustments to achieve a perfect t. Always wear the
headphones so the cable is positioned on your left.

Two AAA batteries power the Sound Clarity ANC. Batteries are located behind the
battery cap on the front of the left (L) ear cup. Identify the down arrow (picture) before
attempting to open battery cap. Do not attempt to open the right-side ear cup. To install
the batteries, remove the battery cap by pressing down lightly with both thumbs on the
battery cap, and then, gently slide the removable lid in the direction of the arrow. Insert
two (2) AAA batteries in accordance with the polarity symbol (+) or (-) marked in the
battery compartment. Replace the lid with the down arrow on the bottom of the ear cup.
Simultaneously press down lightly and slide the battery cap upwards to lock in place.
Although it varies by usage, battery life averages 35 hours. With the headphones’s
ANC turned on, the LED indicator will dim when approximately 30 minutes of battery
life remains.

Please dispose of used batteries properly, in accordance with local regulations.
DO NOT INCINERATE BATTERIES.
Note: You can use rechargeable batteries; however, on the average, they last
about half as long as alkaline batteries. In addition, the ANC LED power indicator
light is not attenuated for rechargeable batteries, and therefore it may not
be a reliable indicator of battery output.
No Sound
• Check the connection of the headphones and the AV equipment
• Check the connected AV equipment is turned on
• Turn up the volume of headphones or the connected AV equipment
Noise Reduction Absent
• Check the power of headphones is turned on
• Replace the batteries
Troubleshooting

products include an in-line volume control to enable you to “Turn it Down™”. Remember to
use the in-line volume control to adjust the sound volume to a safe level.
Do not use Sound Clarity headphones when operating a motor vehicle.

The headphones fold at inside its hard shell protective carrying case, making them ideal
for travel around the corner, or around the world. To store, identify the left (L) and Right (R)
designations located on each side of the headband. Holding the headphones with two hands
with the Left (L) ear cup in your left hand, you should be able to see the power indicator
LED and the OFF… ON button. Gently turn the ear cups away from you and in opposite
directions to place the headphone in its protective carrying case. If the ear cups do not turn,
stop immediately. Forcing the ear cups may cause them to break. Remember to zip closed
the carrying case to protect your headphone from damage.
