4. Insert the conductor and pin into
the crimp tool. Position the center
pin’s flange flush with the edge of
the die in the smaller of the two
crimp chambers of the appropriate
color (see the table, below right).
Crimp the center pin.
If a crimped pin on the
center conductor is loose,
adjust the torque dial by
loosening the screw, rotating
the dial one notch
counterclockwise, and
tightening the screw.
The crimped connector
should be cut off and a new connector crimped.
5. Insert the center pin into the
BNC plug body and slide the
exposed shielding over the
support sleeve of the BNC.
Slide the ferrule over the
shielding and against the
BNC body.

Insert the crimped cable
into the BNC body.

Ferrule - small
diameter flush

6. Use the die’s larger chamber of the appropriate color to
crimp the ferrule.
7. Slide and set the heat shrink tube or BNC strain relief over
the ferrule. Apply heat or glue as indicated.

1. Slide the appropriate color
(red, green, blue, yellow or
black) heat shrink tube or
BNC strain relief over the
cable, then slide the ferrule
over the cable.
2. Carefully strip the end of
the coaxial cable to expose
the shielding and conductor.
Strip to the dimensions
shown at right.

plastic sleeve over the
conductor.
Insert the conductor into the
center pin. For MHR cable
only, set the pin flush against
the plastic sleeve (other BNC
crimp assemblies do not use a
