1720T and 1720R
Installation and Operation
The 1720T and R comprise a signal distribution and demonstration platform
that provides an ideal way to demonstrate soundbars in multiple congurations.
Each Transmitter serves four receivers; audio-video signals and power may
be bussed to additional transmitters
Durable, illuminated Product Select Buttons (PSB) may be used to activate a
demo (see PSB Details)
Use any source providing optical or coaxial digital audio (2-channel PCM)
Optical and coaxial digital audio is available to all soundbar positions
Analog audio is available for TV sound
Three button modes
PSB Details
Push-buttons are used
to activate a demo at
each receiver location.
Two styles are available
from Audio Authority,
or most other two-
wire, momentary push
buttons may be used.
Demo Features
Attract Mode A: (Feature switch 3 OFF) The buttons blink when the demo is not active, and are lit solid
during the demo.
Attract Mode B: (Feature switch 3 ON) The buttons are lit solid when the demo is not active, and blink during
the demo.
Timeout Interval: At the end of the timeout interval, (a period of inactivity) the audio outputs are turned off,
and attract mode begins. Turn timeout OFF (set to 0) if the demo should play continuously. 0 = no timeout, 1 =
15 second timeout .. 9 = 135 second timeout.
Connecting the System
Transmitter Input: Connect any Component Video source that has 2-channel PCM audio output. Do not
connect the power supply until your are ready to test the system.
Transmitter Output: Fabricate Cat 5/6/7 cables using EIA-568B standard, and test with a network cable
tester (continuity testing is not adequate). Connect one 1720T output to each 1720R as desired.
Transmitter Bus: To add more receivers, connect bus outputs to one or more 1720T transmitters with short
RCA patch cords, or barrel connectors.
TV and Soundbar Connections: Connect one digital audio type (coax or optical) at each receiver output
position to a soundbar input. Connect analog audio to TV audio inputs.
PSB: Connect a product select button to correct pins on associated PSB port(s). If using one button mode, or
auto-demo, use TV port.
Power: Connect 12V power supply to Receiver and Transmitter Power Inputs.
