Brookstone my life is an 8-inch digital picture show that lets you store up to 1,000 photos on its built-in 128MB memory. It can display photos in landscape or portrait mode, and you can use the slide show option to watch your photos come to life. triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated
“dangerous voltage” within the unit’s enclosure that may be of

to alert the user to the presence of important operating
and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature
accompanying the unit.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
All the safety and operating instructions should be read, adhered to and
followed before the unit is operated.
DANGER
To reduce the risk of electric shock, burns, fire or injury:
1. Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet immediately after using.
2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
3. Do not place or store unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. Do not reach for the unit if it has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
6. Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled
onto the unit.

WARNING
1. Close supervision is necessary when this unit is used by or near children.
2. Use this unit only for its intended use as described in this manual.
3. Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods
of time.
4. Never drop or insert an object into any opening.
5. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at
plug outlets, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits the unit.
6. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Wrap cord loosely around the unit
when storing.
7. The unit should be situated away from direct sunlight or heat sources, such
as radiators, electric heaters, heat registers, stoves, or other units (including
amplifiers) that produce heat. Avoid placing on top of stereo equipment
that radiates heat.

8. Never block the air openings of the unit with materials such as clothing,
plastic bags or papers, or place it on a soft surface such as a bed or couch,
where the air openings may be blocked.
9. Do not overload electrical outlet. Use the power source as indicated.
10. Do not carry this unit by the cord or use the cord as a handle.
11. Never operate this unit if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
If the unit’s power supply cord or plug is damaged, do not attempt to fix
it yourself.
12. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair
the unit. Incorrect repair can cause risk of electric shock or injury to persons
when unit is used.
13. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.

FRAME OPERATION
AttAching stAnd
1. Line up pins on stand with holes on the frame and insert stand.
2. Rotate stand to first position for portrait viewing.
3. Rotate stand to second position for landscape viewing.
tURning thE fRAmE On/Off
1. Plug in adapter.
2. Press and hold POWER BUTTON
for
2 seconds to turn on the frame. A memory
bar appears on the display several seconds
after the frame is turned on. See Figure 1.
Note: A white bar indicates used memory.
When the bar is completely white, the memory is full.
3. Press and hold POWER BUTTON
for 3 seconds to turn off the frame.

1. With the frame powered on, insert your memory card or flash drive into the
appropriate slot. The photos on the memory card or flash drive will show
in SLIDE SHOW mode.
2. To enter PREVIEW, press

1. Photos can be downloaded onto the frame from a memory card or flash
drive, all at once or one at a time.
2. With your memory card or flash drive inserted into the appropriate slot,
select FULL SCREEN mode or PREVIEW mode by pressing
.

3. To download photos one at a time from the memory card or flash drive
in FULL SCREEN mode, use the
or
to select the photo to download.
Press
. COPY?
appears on screen. Press
again to download photo.
When the download is complete, the next photo on your memory card
appears on the display. The frame exits the COPY feature if
is not
pressed within 3 seconds.
4. To download all photos on the memory card or flash drive in FULL SCREEN
mode, press and hold
for 2 seconds. The COPY ALL? prompt appears
on screen. Press
again to download all photos on the memory card
or flash drive. The frame exits the COPY ALL feature if
is not pressed
within 3 seconds.
5. To download photos one at a time from the memory card or flash drive
in PREVIEW mode, use
or
to select the photo to download. The
photo selected will have a white frame around it. Press
. The COPY?
prompt appears on screen. Press
again to download photo. When the
download is complete, the next photo on your memory card will be selected.
The frame exits the COPY feature if
is not pressed within 3 seconds.

6. To download all photos on the memory card or flash drive in PREVIEW
mode, press and hold
for 2 seconds. The COPY ALL? prompt appears
on screen. Press
again to download all photos on the memory card
or flash drive. The frame exits the COPY ALL feature if
is not pressed
within 3 seconds.
Note: If, during the copying process, PICTURE EXISTS OVERWRITE? appears
on screen, press again to overwrite existing photo.
7. When downloading photos from a memory card or flash drive, the frame
automatically optimizes their size for the best display resolution and
viewing speed.
8. MEDIA EMPTY appears on the display if there are no photos on the memory
card or flash drive.
9. MEDIA EXCEEDS DIGITAL FRAME MEMORY appears on the display when the
frame's memory is full, or when the media exceeds the amount of memory
remaining on the frame.

dOWnLOAding PhOtOs fROm A cOmPUtER
1. You can download photos from a computer onto the frame's hard drive.
To optimize display resolution and viewing speed, you may want to resize
larger photos with photo-editing software (not included). Recommended
screen resolution is 800 x 600, 72 dpi (dots/pixels per inch).
2. Insert one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the frame and the
other end into your computer's USB port. The display will show USB screen
and an external drive named "my life" will appear on your computer.
3. Browse your computer for the photo(s) you want to download.
4. Drag and drop your desired photo(s) onto the "my life" external drive
directory "DCIM_DPF".
5. Properly disconnect the frame from your computer to avoid any data loss
or damage.

1. Turn the frame on. The photos on the frame will show in SLIDE SHOW mode.
2. To enter PREVIEW mode, press
. Photos are shown in PREVIEW mode.

3. To enter FULL SCREEN mode, press

SCREEN mode. Press

Note: INSERT MEDIA appears on the display when there are no photos
saved on the frame.
Using sLidE shOW mOdE
1. Press
to select full screen SLIDE SHOW or MULTISHOW format.
2. Press
to select the slide show interval (5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds).
3. To exit SLIDE SHOW, press
.
Note: When there is a memory card or flash drive inserted in the frame and
SLIDE SHOW is active, photos on the memory card or flash drive loop play.
When there are photos saved on the frame and SLIDE SHOW is active, photos
on the frame loop play.

ROtAting A PhOtO
1. In FULL SCREEN mode, press
to rotate the photo 90 degrees.
Press again, and photo will continue rotating.
2. The photo will display in the selected position.
Note: The rotate function does not work when there is a memory card
or flash card inserted into the frame.
dELEting A PhOtO
1. With the frame is powered on in FULL SCREEN or PREVIEW mode, select the
photo you want to delete.
2. Press
. DELETE? appears on the display. Press
again to delete the photo.
The frame exits the delete feature if
is not pressed within 3 seconds.
Note: The delete function does not work when there is a memory card
or flash drive inserted into the frame.
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to keep back-up photo files on your computer.
My Life Digital Picture Show is for viewing purposes only, and not meant
to be used as an archive.

PLAYing An AVi fiLE
1. Select the AVI file in PREVIEW mode. A MOVIE icon shows in the bottom
left corner of the thumbnail to indicate an AVI file.
2. Press
to play the AVI file. The AVI file will play in a loop.
3. To adjust the volume while the AVI file is playing, press
button.
4. To exit the AVI file, press
or press the or button.
Note: An AVI file can be played from a memory card, flash drive or from
the frame's on board memory.
