Normal operation

arenotfollowed,thereisariskoffireduetofatsedimentsinthefilters!
• Fortheventilationductsalltheapplicablestandardsandregulationsshallbeobserved.

WARNING!
• Thetouchcontrolisactivatedbyputtingafingerontherequiredsymbolonthecontrolpanel.Thereforekeep
the control panel clean and dry.
• Ateachpressingofasymbolabeepcanbeheard.Theresponsetimeforpressingasymbolis1second,forwhich
timeitisnecessarytoholdafingeronthesymbol.
• Thesensorsdonotrespondtomattdarkcolours(donotuseblackgloves).
• Makesuretheunitisnotaccidentallyswitchedon,e.g.duringcleaning!
Before the first use
Priortothestartofuseofanewunit,wipeitwithawetandthenadrycloth.
Airing mode
Inthismodethevapoursareventilatedthroughtheoutputpipeintotheshaftandoutoftheroom.Incasethere
arecarbonfiltersinstalledintheunit,removethem(seeCleaningandmaintenancechapter).
1.Selecttherequiredfanpowerlevelbypressing„+“and„-“symbols(1–4).
2.Aftertheuseswitchtheunitoffbysettingthefanpowerlevelto„0“.
Re-circulation mode
Ifyouhavenopossibilitytoventilatetheairoutoftheroom,re-circulationmodecanbeselected.Inthismodethe
vapoursarefilteredthroughmetalandcarbonfilters.Activecarboninthesefiltersabsorbssmells,andtheclean
airflowsbacktotheroomthroughholesintheupperchimneycover.Forthismodeitisnecessarytobuyand
assemblecorrespondingcarbonfilters(seeCleaningandmaintenancechapter).
1.Selecttherequiredfanpowerlevelbypressing„+“and„-“symbols(1–4).
2.Afteruseswitchtheunitoffbysettingthefanpowerlevelto„0“.
Switching the lighting on and off
SwitchthelightonbypressingtheLsymbol.SwitchthelightoffbyrepeatedpressingoftheLsymbol.
Delayed OFF function
1.Selecttherequiredfanpowerlevel(1–4).
2.BypressingtheT“symbolactivatethedelayedofffunction.Adotsymbolwillblinkonthedisplay.
3.Settherequireddelayedofftimebyrepeatedpressingof-“and+“symbolsintherange10–90minutes.Tens
ofminuteswillbedisplayed,i.e.1=10minutes,2=20minutesetc.Confirmbypressingthe„T“symbol(fan
power level will be displayed, and dot symbol will blink).

Automatic fan power regulation
Theunitisequippedwithaso-calledodoursensorthatdetectsanincreasedvolumeofodoursintheair.
Thisfunctionenablesautomaticregulationoffanpowerdependingonthevolumeofodoursintheair.
Afterconnectingtoelectricpowerthefanshallnotbeswitchedonforabout5minutes,sothatthesensorcanbe
calibrated.
Thefunctionisactivatedbyalongpressingofthe„–“symbol.An„A“willbedisplayed.
Todeactivatethefunction,long-pressthe“symbol.
Filter replacement signal function
Thisfunctionisonlyindicative,itremindsyouwhenthefiltersshouldbecleanedorreplacedunderstandarduse.
Thefunctioncountshoursofoperation,i.e.theunitdoesnotdetectwhetheryouhavealreadyperformedthe
replacementornot;itjustremindsyouthatacheck-up,cleaningorreplacementshouldbecarriedout.
„F“–signaltocleanthefatfilterswillbedisplayedafter100hoursofoperation.
„C“–signaltoreplacethecarbonfilterswillbedisplayedafter220hoursofoperation.
YoumayresetthecounterbypressingtheT“symbolfor10seconds,thedisplaywillgooff.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Beforeanymaintenanceandcleaningdisconnectthepowercordfromthemainsorswitchoffthecircuitbreaker
ofthemainsoutletoftheunit.
• Donotimmersethepowercord,plug,orapplianceinwateroranyotherliquid.
• SetallcontrolsintheOFFposition.
• Cleantheoutersurfaceoftheunitwithawetcloth,oruseaneutraldetergent.
• Donotusecoarsesponges,abrasivecleanersorcausticagentssuchasovencleanerorstainremover.
• Donotuseautoclaveforcleaningtheunit!
CLEANING AND REPLACING THE FILTERS
a)Metallicfatfilters
Undernormalusethemetallicfatfiltersshouldbecleanedevery2months.
Incaseofmorefrequentfryingordeepfryingmaketheintervalshorter.
Donotusetheunitwithoutproperlymountedmetallicfatfilters!
1.Removethemetallicfilters(Fig.1).Incasetherearecarbonfiltersmounted,
remove them.
2.Putthemetallicfiltersinwarmwaterwithadetergent.Cleanthemwitha
softbrush,rinsewithcleanwaterandletdry.
3.Remountcompletelydryfiltersfollowingthereversesteps.

UNIT INSTALLATION
• Only authorised personnel can install the power connection!
• Onlythecustomerisresponsibleforinstallationinsitu.Defectscausedbyincorrectinstallationarenotcovered
by the warranty.
• Removeallthecoveringandmarketingmaterialsfromtheunitbeforethefirstuse.
• Werecommendyoutoletaspecialisedcompanyperformtheinstallation.
• Themanufacturerbearsnoresponsibilityfordamagecausedtopeople,animalsorobjectsasaresultofincorrect
installation.
Follow the installation instructions:
a) Chimney type (models OPK 4460, OPK 4490)
1.Marktheminimumrequiredassemblyheightonthewallbehindthehotplate(650mmforelectric,and700mm
forgashotplates,Fig.3).
2.Markthepositionofcentreofthehotplatebyaverticalline.
3.Drillholes,fixwallholder(D)attherequiredheightusingthesuppliedwallplugs(G)andscrews(H)(960mm
forelectricand1010mmforgashotplates,Fig.3).
4.Hangthebodyoftheunitontheholder(K).Settheexactverticalpositionbyscrews(J)and(I),Fig.4.
5.Fortheairingmodemountthebackflowvalveontheoutputhole,andconnecttheoutputholeofthefanwith
holetheinthewallusingflexiblepipe.Ifneedbeusetheadapter(150/120mm).
Note: Flexible pipe and diameter adapter are not supplied.
6.Mountboththechimneycoversonthebody(KandN),shifttheupperchimneycover(N)totherequiredheight,
and mark its upper edge on the wall (Fig. 4 and 5. Remove both the chimney covers.
7.Measureandmarka16mmdistanceunderthemarkedmaximumheightoftheupperchimneycover.Drillholesat
thisheight,andxthewallholderoftheupperchimneycover(E).Ifnecessaryusetheuppercover(F),Fig.5.
8. Mount and screw the lower and upper chimney covers.
9. Plug the supply cable in the wall outlet.
b)Carbonfilters(mustbepurchased)
Thesefiltersareusedonlyinthere-circulationmode.
Thefilterscontainactivecarbonthatabsorbstheventilatedodours.Afterawhiletheactivecarbonissaturated,
andlosesitsabsorptionability.Thesefilterscan‘tbewashedorotherwisecleaned.
Undernormalusethecarbonfiltersshouldbereplacedevery2months.Incaseofmorefrequentfryingordeep
fryingmaketheintervalshorter.
1.Removethemetallicfilters(Fig.1),andremovecarbonfiltersfromthem.
2.Mountnewcarbonfilterstothemetallicones(Fig.2),andputthesetback.

b) Island type (model OPO 5590)
1.Markthecentreofthehotplateontheceilingabove.
2.Drillholes,fixtheceilingholderusingsuppliedwallplugsandscrews(Fig.7).
3.Fortheairingmodemountbackflowvalveontheoutputhole,andconnecttheoutputholeofthefanwiththe
holeinthewallusingflexiblepipe.Ifneedbeusetheadapter(150/120mm).

4.Mounttheupperchimneycoverontheceilingholder(Fig.8),andfixitusingthescrews(B).
5.Mountthelowerchimneycoverontheceilingholder(Fig.9and10),shiftupandfixtothebodyusingscrews
(C).Keeptheminimumrequiredheightabovethehotplate(650mmforelectric,and700mmforgashotplates,
Fig. 6).
6. Open the switch box and connect the control cable. Connect all other possible connectors.
7.Plugthesupplycableinthewalloutletandshiftthelowerchimneycoverdown.
