Our know-how for your beautiful lawn
Congratulations on your purchase of a WOLF lawn mower. You have thereby chosen a machine built to the latest standards of technology to
provide you with perfect lawn care.
To ensure that you have great pleasure from your lawn, we have included several hints on sowing, refurbishment and care. The seed is important!
A high quality seed is the basis for a beautiful lawn. We recommend two excellent products for sowing new lawns:
WOLF lawn seed >>Supra<<
This high-quality mixture of lawn seeds features an extremely dense growth which doesn‘t give moss or weeds a chance. Another advantage
of >>Supra<< lawns: they grow as well in the shade as in sunny spaces.
WOLF lawn seed >>Loretta<<
>>Loretta<< lawns are extremely rugged and durable and are particularly suitable for heavily used areas. The rapid germination and
regenerative capacity guarantee a dense, hardy lawn in the shortest time .
A new lawn without digging over
Are you dissatisfied with your lawn but don‘t want to tackle the job of sowing a completely new one? - No problem, we can show you how to
transform your lawn quickly and without extensive work into the most beautiful lawn without digging over.
The lawn renewal system „Novaplant
®
will quickly and easily provide you with a beautiful, dense and durable lawn which will be the envy of your neighbours.
All that you need are a lawn mower, a cultivator and WOLF Novaplant
®
>>Supra<< (apart from a special kick-start fertiliser, this contains the high-quality
>>Supra<< lawn mixture) or WOLF Novaplant
®
>>Loretta<< (apart from a special kick-start fertiliser, this contains the high-quality >>Loretta<< lawn mixture).
After 5 simple steps and in only 6 weeks, you will have transformed your old lawn into the lawn of your dreams with this unique lawn renewal system.
Perfect lawn care
The following guidelines for lawn care show you how to keep the lawn of your dreams beautiful for a long time.
Mowing:
Important for the density and durability of the lawn. We recommend regular mowing once per week always at the same cutting height: not lower
than 3.4 cm, not higher then 5 cm, 5 cm is ideal in the shade. If the lawn has grown higher than 8 cm, possibly in Spring or after holidays, it
is necessary to cut this back in stages.
Fertilising:
Provides the lawn with the necessary nutrients, keeps it healthy and durable. We recommend 4 x fertilisation per season with a special lawn
fertiliser (please don‘t use general purpose types):
March: WOLF kick-start fertiliser for new lawns May: WOLF lawn fertiliser >>Super<<
July: WOLF lawn fertiliser >>Super<< September: WOLF Vital NK plus
Watering:
An absolute necessity in dry weather. We recommend root-deep watering once to twice per week. The water should penetrate approximately
1ß cm into the soil (10 - 15 litres / m
2
). More water is required under trees.
Cultivating:
Important to remove lawn moss and dead vegetation. At least once per year in the early Spring (April/May). Then clear the removed material
completely from the lawn.
Combating weeds: Removes undesired weeds from the lawn
Use WOLF weed killer plus lawn fertiliser as necessary
Best times: The middle of May to the beginning of September
Combating moss: Removes moss from the lawn
Use WOLF moss killer plus lawn fertiliser as necessary
Best times: Spring and Autumn (see instructions)
For heavy moss growth: Remove moss with a cultivator and reseed
Foliage: Deprives the lawn of light and encourages diseases - must be removed from the lawn as quickly as possible.
Correct and regular care of the lawn is particularly important in the shade. The constant deficiency of light weakens the grasses, blade and
root growth are retarded and diseases can spread quickly.
>>SUPRA<< is currently the best lawn for shady areas. Of course, it also grows very well in sunny spots.
We hope you take great pleasure in your beautiful lawn.
Optimum lawn care with products from WOLF-Garten

1. General Information:
This lawnmower is intended for the care of grass and lawns in the private sector. Because of the physical hazard to the operator the lawnmower may not be used:
- to trim shrubs, hedges and bushes,
- or cutting climbing plants
- lawns on roof plantings
- in balcony boxes
- for cleaning sidewalks (vacuuming – blowing away – removing snow),
- for chaffing and cutting up tree and hedge cuttings
-
as a tractor (for drive mowers) for lawn turning devices, strewing car, trailer e.g. for passengers transporting cuttings (except in the grass collection
basket provided).
Never let children or other persons who are not familiar with the operating instructions use the lawnmower. Juveniles under l6 years may not use the
equipment. Local regulations may specify the minimum age of the operator.
Never cut your lawn if persons, particularly children and animals are in the vicinity.
Mow only in daylight or with appropriate artificial lighting.
2. Before Mowing:
Never mow without wearing firm footwear and long trousers: Never mow barefoot or in open sandals.
Attach the baffle provided and/or collection gear. Make certain that it is firmly fitted. Operation without or with damaged protective equipment is forbidden.
Examine the cable installed externally on the mower and the connecting cable for damage and ageing (perishing). Use only when in good condition.
Check the work tool to make certain that the mounting elements are tightly fitted for damage or serious wear.
Observe the installation instructions when replacing parts.
Inspect the catcher bag frequently for wear and deformation.
Check the condition of all outside cables. Ageing and damaged cables must be replaced by a qualified person.
Before adjusting or cleaning the tool and before checking for a caught or damaged connecting cable, switch off the tool and disconnect the mains plug.
Before using, ensure (visually) that the cutting blades and their attaching parts are not blunt or damaged. Replace blunt or damaged cutting blades
by whole sets to avoid imbalance.
3. Cable
Please work with safety cables from WOLF. For the connection only lines which are not lighter than rubber hose lines H0 7 RN-F to with a minimum
diameter
of 3 x 1,5 mm
2
must be used.
• The attachments of the connection cables must be rubber or covered with rubber and comply with Standard DIN/VDE 0620.
• Attachments must be splashproof (applicable in Austria only).
Use a leakage-protective system (RCD) with a leakage current of no more than 30 mA.
Attach connection cable to traction relief. Make sure that in does not rub against edges, pointed or sharp objects. Do not squeeze cable through
door or window gaps.
Switching devices must not be removed or bridged (e.g. tying of switching lever to guide spar).
4. Starting the Motor:
Switch om motor only when your feet are at a safe distanca from the mower chassis and when standing on firm ground - not in high grass;
Do not tilt the mower when starting the motor unless the mower must be tilted for starting. If so, do not tilt the mower more than absolutely necessary and
lift only the part farthest from the user. Always ensure that both of your hands are in the working positions before replacing the mower on the ground.
Do not start the engine if you are standing in front of the ejection channel.
5. During work - for your Safety:
ATTENTION - DANGER! Keep hands away from rotating cutter blade and remember that the blade continues to rotate for a short while after the
motor has been switched off;
• Always walk behind the handle bars, holding the upper handle grip with both hands;
Keep feet away from the mower chassis and be extra carefull when mowing on hills or slopes to prevent slipping. Mow across the hill, if possible.
Mowe forward at walking pace, never run;
• Avoid pulling the mower backwards (towards you) during work;
Switch off motor before tilting or lifting the mower and when pushing off the lawn area;
• Never use the mower when the protective parts are damaged or safety equipment such as the deflector and/or grass catching parts are missing;
Use the height adjustment only when the mower is stationary and the rotating blade has come to a complete standstill;
Before removing the grassbox switch off the motor and wait until the rotating blade has come to a complete standstill;
Never push mower over gravel with running motor;
If possible, avoid mowing in wet coditions;
Switch off motor and remove cable plug socket before working at the cutter blades, before making any adjustments, when cable has become entangled:
a) before leaving the mower unattended,
b) before attempting to clear a blockade underneath chassis or at rear throe-out,
c) before inspecting, cleaning or working on the mower,
d)
immediately after your mower blade has hit a foreign and hard object. Check the condition of the deck and cutter blade before switching on again,
e) immediately when your mower starts to vibrate strongly. Locate the reason for the vibration and remedy.
If your mower has a power-drive do switch the power-drive off before starting motor or engine.
Should the power cord be damaged during use, immediately disconnect it fromthe mains. Do not touch the cable until it has been disconnected from the mains.
6. Maintenance:
Switch off motor and remove mains plug before carrying out any repairs or maintenance to your mower;
Do not clean yor mower with a hose pipe - and particularly not with a high-pressure spray;
Inspect regularly all visible nuts and bolts - particularly ot the cutter blade - for their tightness;
ATTENTION! Sharpening and changing of cutter blades should be done by a qualified service centre because it is necessary that the correct
balance after fixing is guaranteed;
Damaged and worn parts must always be replaced with original WOLF replacement parts as otherwise your guarantee will be invalidated;
• Your service centre should check your mower regularly and particularly after any hard obstacle hat hit the chassis and/or the cutter blades;
Store your mower only in a dry room.
If cutter blade hits a hard foreign object whilst mowing switch of motor immediately, remove safety key and check cutter blade carefully for damage.
Please observe these hints, as they help you to prevent damage or even accidents!
Conduct maintenance and cleaning work only when the motor is switched off and the key has been removed.
