Chapter1 INTRODUCTION
TheAventurahandheldmetaldetectorcanbeusedinavarietyoflocationsfordifferent
purposes.Itcanbeusedby:
police,courts,prisonsandhighsecurityfacilities;
airportsecurity,bordercontrol,customs,militaryfacilitiesandsecuritycheckpoints;
public places like convention and exhibition centers, entertainment and cultural
locations,sportsfacilities,etc.;
highsecurityfacilitieswherepreciousmetaldetectionisrequired,likemines,jewelry
factories,orotherfacilitiestopreventtheft;
medicalandfoodquality inspection;

1.1.Precautions
Turnoffpowerafteruse.ThemetaldetectorhasagreenLEDthatwillstayonwhilethe
powerisON.Ifnotturnedoff,theLEDwilldrainthebattery.
If the metal detector is in constant contact with a metal surface, it will not sound or
vibrate.Itwillsendalarmswhenusedforrepetitivescans.
Use caution when charging the batteries. Use only rechargeable batteries, as non
rechargeableonescanexplodeandcausefire.
Ifexternalpowerisused,batteriescanberemoved.
Batteries are not included. If batteries are used Aventura recommends the use of
rechargeablebatteries.
1.2.Features
Thehandheldmetaldetectorhasthefollowingfeatures:
Streamlineappearance,smallandeasytocarry;
Easytouse,convenientandnoneedforadditionalsetting;
Batterylevelindicator;
Externalchargingportforcontinuousoperation;
AdjustableHigh and Low sensitivity levels. Low sensitivity can be used in areas
wherethere’stoo
muchinterferencefromothermetalstructuresorobjects;
Shockresistant.Canwithstand40inches[1meter]drops;

2.2.Poweron
Thehandheldmetaldetectorhasapowerswitchwiththreepositions(seecallout10on

position (towards the front of the wand) will turn the device on, and will enable only the
vibration.TheDOWNposition(towardsthebottomofthewand)willturnthedeviceon,andwill

If the power LED does not turn green, or there is a continuous sound or vibration, the
batteryisdepletedandneedstobereplaced.Replaceorrechargethebatteryandthentryagain.
You can also check the low battery indicator (see callout 2). If the LED is yellow, replace the
battery.
2.3.Detectionandsensitivityscanning

The High sensitivity can be used in day to day operations. In special cases, the Low
sensitivitycanbeused.Usethesensitivitybutton(callout9)toreducethewandsensitivity ina

2.4.Poweringandchargingthedevice
Thehandheldmetaldetectorhasthreewaysofoperation:battery,rechargeablebattery
andpoweredoperation.Nobatteriesaresuppliedwiththeunit.Theunitoperateswith9V(orE)
sizebatteries.
Before battery installation, observe the battery polarity. The battery socket is marked
withPositive(+)andNegative()symbols.
When used with nonrechargeable batteries, do not connect the
unit to the 120Vac
[220Vac]charger.Thiscancauseafireorexplosion.
Whenusedwithrechargeablebatteries,theyellowLED(seecallout2)willindicatewhen
battery is running low. Connect the unit to the charger using the power jack (see callout 4).
Rechargingtimedependsontheselectedbatterycapacity.
Whenusedcontinuously,connectchargertotheunit.
