The MA Module Adapter (Biamp #909-0047-00) provides mounting & power for modules such as BOSE
®
EQ (Models 8, 25, 32, & 102) and
APHEX Aural Exciter
TM
(Model 519B). The MA allows these modules to be used economically in ‘stand-alone’ applications with
ADVANTAGE
®
IWA & RPM Series powered mixers, PRECEDENCE
®
CMA Series mixer/amplifiers, or virtually any other sound system.
The MA Module Adapter consists of a metal box, with an internal circuit board and an external power transformer. The MA circuit board
provides an edge-connector, which accepts the module circuit board. The MA power transformer is connected via a 5-pin DIN connector.
To install a module: Insert the module into the MA, making sure the circuit board is pushed fully into the edge-connector. Secure the
module using the two scews provided with the MA. The MA may be screw-mounted to a surface, using the keyholes provided on the rear
panel. Connect the MA power transformer to AC power. Make all module & system signal connections. Power up the sound system.
Modules are typically unbalanced, and are connected between the source (preamp/mixer) and the output (amplifier) of a sound system.
When used with IWA or RPM Series powered mixers, connect the module at the Main (or Zone) patch point, with Main (or Zone) Out to the
module input and the module output to the associated EQ In. When used with CMA Series mixer/amplifiers, connect Pre Out to the
module input and the module output to Amp In. Likewise, a module may be connected at the main patch point of virtually any mixer.
The MA receives 27 Volts AC from its external power transformer, and provides +24 Volts DC (pin 1) and a ground (pin 4) for the module.
When loaded with a module, the MA will provide a maximum current of 25 mA and will have a power consumption of less than 2 Watts.
