Making instructions
1. Glue the wing tips (2) at angle on to the wing centre section (1) see diagram 1Glue the two fuselage nose
parts (3) together, then glue them to the fuselage boom (4)
Diagram 2, remove any excess by sanding!
3. Glue the sides (5) either side of the nose, using a thin layer of glue.
4. Make a score cut for the flaps ʻa ʻ+ ʻbʼ underneath the tail plane and tail fin (use a modelling knife) Do not cut
all the way through. Bend the flap ʻaʼ up 1mm and spot glue it into position.
5. Glue the tail plane ( 6) on to the fuselage boom ( 4) ( diagram 2) making sure that it is horizontal.
6. Glue the tail fin (7) in the middle of the tail plane, making sure that it upright .(vertical)
7. Thread a needle with a length of cotton and insert it from underneath, up through the middle of the wing
centre section, at a point 23mm from the leading (front) edge. Glue one end of the cotton under the wing and
leave the other end free above the wing.
8. Glue the wings to the fuselage (1) centrally on the nose section (3) ( diagram 2 )
9. Finding the centre of gravity:
Hold the model by the cotton thread and add lead shot to the chamber ʻcʼ until the model lies horizontally.
(seal chamber after with a strip of sellotape )
10. Side balance:
Hold the model by the cotton thread and add a small amount of lead under the highest wing tip until the
wings balance evenly.
Flying
11. Hold the model between your finger and thumb at the centre of gravity and launch it into its flight path with a
gentle swing. It should glide for about 10 metres.
Do not launch your model by throwing it upwards!!
a) If the model glides too steeply, bend the tail flap, a little more upwards and re-glue.
b) If the model wallows in a wavy up and down flight path bend the tab down.
c) If the model flies in a curve bend the tab on the tail fin in the opposite side.
We wish you much fun and success with flying your Cloud !!
