Software
ID Register is software for registering/editing user information on the computer instead of
on the machine touch panel.
Connecting the ID card reader to the computer will allow you to add the ID card
information to the user information.
You can also use a computer to edit the user information registered in the machine. For
access to the user information (ID card list) registered in the machine, contact a service
representative.

Operation flow
Using ID Register to register the user information
1. ID card
2. ID card reader
Reads the ID card information. This product does not support writing to the ID card.
Connect to the USB port of the computer.
3. Administrator’s computer
Used to install ID Register and register/edit the user information.
4. KM-NET for Accounting
Software for managing the job account of the machine on the computer. Used to
download the Account List from the machine.
5. ID Register
Software for reading the ID card information by ID card reader. Used to register/edit
the user information.
6. KMnet Viewer
Software for managing the print status on the computer. Used to transmit the ID card
list (*.icr) to the machine.
7. Machine
Manages the User Login setting by referring to the user information registered with ID
Register.

Installing/uninstalling the programs
You will find the following files after extracting the file you downloaded.
ID Register associated files
ID card reader driver associated files
To install the ID card reader driver
The driver is compatible with plug-and-play installation.
Connect the USB cable of ID card reader to the USB slot on the computer.
NOTE: Depending on type of the card reader, the additional driver installation may be
required. When connected to the computer, the ID card reader is detected as new
hardware. If you use a SCM ID card reader, select the folder which contains
SCL0102K.INF and install the driver.

To install ID Register
NOTE: Before installing ID Register, complete the driver installation. You need to log in
as an administrator to install ID Register.
1 Double-click setup.exe to start the installation wizard.
The language selection screen appears.
2 Select a language from the list and click [Next].
3 Follow the instructions of the installation wizard.
If you proceed to user information registration, refer to Registering the user information
on page 9.
To uninstall ID Register
Access to Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel to uninstall ID Register.

Starting ID Register
To start ID Register
Follow the steps below to start ID Register.
1 Click [Start][Program][Kyocera][ID Register]. ID Register startup screen
appears.
NOTE: You need to log in as an administrator to start ID Register.
2 Enter the password if necessary.
3 Select one of the following options to start ID Register.
New -
Select this option to register a new user information. Refer to

for details.
Open an existing file
-
Select this option to open an existing ID card list file. Refer to

Open an existing file after modified
-
Select this option to convert an existing ID
card list file and register in the new machine. Refer to

NOTE: If you select [Open an existing file after modified], you are prompted to reset the
default administrator settings to its initial state. If you click [Yes], the information
pertaining to the default administrator or the user whose login name is ‘Admin’ will be
automatically erased after conversion.

To change the setup password
Follow the steps below to change ID Register setup password.
1 Start ID Register.
2 Select [Edit] [Password] from the menu.
3 Enter the new setup password in New password and Confirm password, and then click
[OK].
4 When The password has been changed. appears, click [OK]. The new setup password is
now set.

Registering the user information
To register new user information
Follow the steps below to create a new ID card list and register information.
1 Start D Register.
2 Select New.
3 From the file format, select the machine name in which you wish to register the user
information, and click [OK].

Click [Add].When Do not insert or remove the card reader while the user information is
edited. appears, click [OK]. If you use the RFIDeas ID card reader, go to step 7.
NOTE: In the default setting, only Default Administrator is registered. You cannot select
[Delete] or [Duplicate] for Default Administrator.

5 Hold the ID card over the ID card reader.
6 In the User Editor screen, click [Read ID Card Data]. Its ID number is automatically
entered in ID number.

7 Input the user information.
Item Description
ID number Enter the serial number of the card.
Displays the information retrieved from an ID card using
[Read ID Card Data].
The ID number should be 64 characters or less*.
*The length of the ID number allowed will vary depending on the make and
type of ID card readers, typically up to 20 even number.
Login user name**
**Required items for user registration
Enter the Login User Name for login within 64 characters. The
same Login User Name cannot be registered twice.
Login password Enter the Login Password for login within 64 characters.
Confirm password Enter again the password you set in Login password.
Access level Select a user privilege from User or Administrator.
Account code You can register the job account to which the user belongs. If
you log in as a user whose job account has been registered,
you do not need to enter the Account Code. Directly enter the
Account Code or select from the Account List which has been
read in step 6.
If you enter an unregistered Account Code or register a code
which is not registered in the machine, the code will be
classified as other a count.
E-mail address You can register the user’s e-mail address. The address is
required if you use the e-mail transmission feature. The e-mail
address you register here will be automatically selected when
the e-mail feature is used.
User name** Enter the user name shown in the User List within 32
characters.

8 To read the Account Code from the Account List, click [Select] of Account code.
If you do not use the Account List, go to step 11.
9 Select the Account List (*.csv) and click [Open].
NOTE: You can export the Account List (*.csv) from KM-NET for Accounting. To download
the Account List (*.csv) from the machine,

You can also read the Account List (*.csv) you used for KX printer driver. Refer to the
Printer Driver Operation Guide for more details.
10 Select the Account Code in the Account List and click [OK]. The Account Code is read in.

11 Click [OK] (If you use the RFIDeas ID card reader, hold the ID card over the card reader
and click [Read ID Card Data].). A new user is now added.
12 If you continue to add users, repeat steps 4 to 11.
13 Select [File][Save As...] from the menu.
14 Enter the file name and click [Save]. The ID card list (*.icr) is created.
NOTE: For details to transmit the ID card list (*.icr) to the machine, refer to To transmit
the ID card list to the machine on page 20.
You can edit the ID card list (*.icr) when you need to change the user information, so keep
it safely.
When you create a new ID card list, select [File][New] from the menu, and then select
the machine name in which you wish to register the user information.

Managing the user information
To open the ID card list
Follow the steps below to open ID card lists (*.icr) you created or exported from the
machine.
1 Start ID Register.
2 To open an existing ID card list, select Open an existing file and click [OK] to proceed to
step 4.
When you work with a machine different from the one you used for creating the ID card
list, select Open an existing file after modified.
3 From the file format, select the machine name in which you wish to register the user
information, and click [OK].
4 Select the ID card list (*.icr) you wish to edit, and click [Open].
5 The ID card list home screen appears.
NOTE: If you open the ID card list (*.icr) while ID Register is running, select
[File][Open] from the menu. If you work with a machine different from the one you used
for creating the ID card list, select [File][Open after Modified], and then select the
machine name in which you wish to register the user information.

To add a user
Follow the steps below to add a user.
1 Follow steps 1 to 4 of To open the ID card list on page 14, and display the ID card list
home screen.
2 Click [Add].
3 Follow steps 4 to 11 of To register new user information on page 9, and add a user.

To change the user information
Follow the steps below to change the user information.
1 Follow steps 1 to 4 of To open the ID card list on page 14, and display the ID card list
home screen.
2 Select the user for whom you wish to edit the information, and click [Edit]. The User
Editor screen appears.
NOTE: Alternatively you can double-click the user to display the User Editor screen.
3 Follow steps 4 to 11 of To register new user information on page 9, and edit the user
information.
4 Select [File][Save] from the menu.

To duplicate an existing user and add as a new one
Follow the steps below to duplicate an existing user, edit the user information and then
add as a new user.
NOTE: You cannot duplicate Default Administrator, which is registered as the default
setting.
1 Follow steps 1 to 4 of To open the ID card list on page 14, and display the ID card list
home screen.
2 Select the user for whom you wish to duplicate the information, and click [Duplicate]. The
User Editor screen appears.
3 Follow steps 4 to 11 of To register new user information on page 9, and edit the user
information.
NOTE: Make sure to change ID Number and Login User Name to complete the edition.
4 Select [File][Save] from the menu.

To delete a user
Follow the steps below to delete a user.
NOTE: You cannot delete Default Administrator, which is registered as the default
setting.
1 Follow steps 1 to 4 of To open the ID card list on page 14, and display the ID card list
home screen.
2 Select the user from whom you wish to delete the information, and click [Delete].
3 On the confirmation screen, click [Yes]. The selected user is deleted.
4 Select [File][Save] from the menu.

To search a user
You can search a user whose information contains the string of text you specify. Follow
the steps below to search a user.
1 Follow steps 1 to 4 of To open the ID card list on page 14, and display the ID card list
home screen.
2 Select [Edit][Find] from the menu.
3 Enter a string of text you wish to use for search, and click [Find Next]. The user search
starts.
