B28-SF-223
Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and
remember to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in
place while you allow glue to dry.
Take the sides and top / bottom of the cargo crate
from the sprue.
Glue them together as shown above with the etched
detail facing outwards.
Take the ends and sloped sections from the sprue
..and glue them into position. Note the sloped
sections only fit one way round.
Remove the two frames from the sprue.
Glue one each side of the cargo crate.
The top hatches are formed from the two pieces on
the left. Glue the ring on top of the plate as shown on
the right.
The four blocks can be used as inspection point
covers.
Glue the hatches and blocks into place.
The completed cargo crate.
Painting Instructions
Once constructed we sprayed our model black using standard car spray primer then dry-brushed it all over with
two shades of green (household emulsion / DIY paint).
The stripes were then painted red along with the gaps either end of the frame and the strip around each hatch.
The second gap in each frame was painted blue.
Chips and scratches had the entire chipped area painted in a pale green , before an inner section of black
followed by silver was applied to it.
