Enraf Card 200
GENERAL
The Enraf Card 200 is a preprogrammed memorycard designed for use with the
Endomed 982
This card contains a wealth of therapeutical knowledge. This makes the Enraf Card
200 the key to come to a parameter setting that is therapeutically accountable by
means of an approach that is patient-dependent.
Starting from 6 medical specialisations, treatments have been distinguished based
on indication, localisation, actuality of a disorder, and way of treatment which has
resulted in over 700 treatment suggestions.
The clear presentation of the consecutive menus ensures a systematic approach of
the disorder. This concept enables you to make a selection quickly and easily.
CLASSIFICATION
The operation of the Enraf Card 200 is subdivided into different levels or menus.
Before entering the treatment screen these menus will have to be gone through.
Because of the enormous quantity of information, not all possibilities are listed in
this quideline. We shall suffice by mentioning the main menu and the description of
all consecutive menus.
Menu 1, main menu
The main menu, the 1st level, is classified in accordance with the medical speciali-
sation. With this menu you define which category applies to the disorder of your
patient.
Below 6 medical specialisations are listed, three of which are again subdivided into
two groups:
A Orthopedics soft tissue
B Orthopedics hard tissue
C Traumatology soft tissue
D Traumatology hard tissue
E Rheumatology
F Neurology peripheral
G Neurology central
H Gynaecology
I Internal medicine
Menu 2
Depending on your choice of medical specialisation, this menu shows the groups of
disorders from which a selection can be made.
Menu 3
In this menu you are requested to select the specific disorder and its exact localisa-
tion.
Menu 4
In this menu you must indicate whether the disorder has a high or a low actuality
(acute or chronic nature). Moreover, you will have to choose between a local or
segmental treatment.
AMPLITUDE AND ELECTRODE POSITIONING
After menu 4 the so-called 'help screen' will appear in which suggestions regarding
electrode placing and amplitude setting are given for the applicable treatment.
For the amplitude 3 levels are classified
1. just perceptible - weak stimulus, just perceptible sensation
2. clearly perceptible - moderate stimulus, distinct sensation
3. strongly perceptible - strong stimulus, just tolerable sensation
In general the cathode is applied to or near to the painful area when using DC cur-
rents. When the electrode is applied proximally and distally, the cathode should be
positioned distally.
