This chapter includes the following topics:
Topics:

SolutionPack for Dell EMC Unity/VNX/VNXe
The following models of Dell EMC VNX or Dell EMC Unity/VNXe are supported.
Table 5. Support for Dell EMC VNX
Supported Family or Models Prerequisites Ports
Operating Environment for Block
("FLARE"): 05.32 or later
Not applicable 443
VNX Operating Environment for
File 7.1 or later. Used with VNX1,
VNX2, and Gateway models
Not applicable 22, 443
NOTE:
For collection of performance data for VNX MetaLUNs with Operating Environment for Block (“FLARE”) 05.32, version
05.32.000.5.209 or later must be used.
Navisphere® CLI commands are used to communicate with the VNX. Dell Technologies recommends to match
Navisphere® CLI versions with the Block Operating Environment versions of VNX systems that are configured in the
SolutionPack. For example, if the firmware version of the Block side is 05.32.x, Navisphere® CLI 7.32.x or later should
be used. For more information about compatible Block OE and Navisphere® CLI versions, see VNX OE for Block Release
Notes and Unisphere Host Agent/CLI and Utilities Release Notes.
SSH access to VNX-File/Celerra with an operator user. SSH access is needed between VNX Collector host and Control
Station to download files in /emc-srm using SFTP.
To collect Quota information correctly, arrays must be running File OE 7.1.70.0 or later.
If ALUA (Failover Mode 4) attached to a VNX array is enabled for one or more hosts, and I/O to the associated
host LUNs are distributed across more than one Storage Processor, values for the LUN performance metrics,
AverageBusyQueueLength, QueueLength, and ResponseTime are higher than what is displayed in Unisphere Analyzer.
The higher values are because the Navisphere® CLI counters are used to compute these metrics accumulate for each
Storage Processor.
Use ReadCacheHitRatio and WriteCacheHitRatio, for FLARE or Operating Environment for Block version 05.33,
05.33.006.5.102 or later to compute the LUN performance metrics correctly.
If Hot Spare disks are invoked or disks are removed the Raw Capacity for an array decreases, although Raw Capacity for
one or more RAID Groups or Pools of the faulted or removed disks do not change. It is normal due to how the Unisphere
and Navisphere® CLI display the capacity metrics for Hot Spares, depending on their state. Until the removed or faulted
disks are replaced and the hot spares are returned to a "Hot Spare Ready" state, it could result in Raw Capacity for a
VNX array to display lower than the sum of the following metrics: ConfiguredUsableCapacity, RAIDOverheadCapacity,
UnconfiguredCapacity, UnusableCapacity, and HotSpareCapacity.
Unisphere Analyzer or SRM may provide huge spikes for Disk Response Time on systems with FLARE or Operating
Environment for Block 05.33. This issue has been addressed in 05.33.000.5.081 and later.
