107840 Bluetooth Audio Interface
3.0 OPERATION
3.1 Bluetooth Receiver (Audio Input) Operation
When the device is configured as audio input, the Bluetooth module implements an A2DP sink profile
with SBC protocol. A2DP enables stereo audio streaming from the music player to the ALTO audio
system.
1. Upon power up, the unit is initially not connected to any devices and the unit name is broadcast.
Check the software label located on the bottom of the unit for the SSID broadcast name. When
a device is paired with the Bluetooth Interface, the broadcast name changes and is appended
with [X], allowing other users to know that the device is taken. The [X] indicator is removed
when the device is available once again. The Bluetooth interface name is always broadcast
whether something is connected or not.
2. Upon power up, the unit will continuously try to connect to any of the previously connected
devices in its internal pairing list. If it finds one, then it re-pairs (first come first serve). If a
connected device is disconnected, then the pairing sequence continues by trying to connect to
the next device on the pairing list.
3. If the button is pressed short (duration less than 2 seconds), all devices are kicked off, the auto-
connect is disabled, and the light blinks fast waiting for someone to manually connect. It will stay
in this fast-blink mode awaiting a connection for 60 seconds after which it will return to auto-
connect (light off.)
4. If the button is pressed long (duration greater than 2 seconds), all devices are kicked off and
the previously connected device information on the internal pairing list is deleted. The LED will
blink fast indicating the device is awaiting a manual connection.
NOTE: If an Apple device is paired and the pairings get cleared via long press, the Apple device
still retains this pairing connection in a list. Further attempts to pair will result in an error. You
must select “FORGET DEVICE” on the Apple device first, and then you will be able to re-pair.
