HOW TO CHARGE YOUR JACKAL™

BATTERY INSTALLATION – CONTROLLER/CHARGER

1. Open the battery door with a screwdriver (pic.1). 2. If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each

battery. 3. Install new batteries as shown in the polarity diagram (+/-) inside the battery compartment (pic.2). 4. Replace battery door securely (pic.3).

5. Check your local laws and regulations for correct recycling and/or battery disposal.

HOW TO FLY YOUR JACKAL™

1. Turn off both the helicopter and controller/charger.

2. Pull out the charging cord from the bottom of the

controller/charger (pic.1). 3. Carefully plug the charging

cord into the helicopter (pic.2). DO NOT FORCE THE

PLUG INTO THE PORT. When inserted properly, the

charging cord should fit easily into the charging port.

Incorrect insertion of the charging cord will damage the

helicopter and may create a hazard. 4. Turn the switch to

the ON/CHG position on the controller/charger (pic.3).

5. The controller/charger’s charge LED will start to flash

(pic.4). 6. When the charge LED stops flashing and turns

off, charging is complete. 7. Turn controller/charger

switch to the OFF position before flying the helicopter.

Things to remember:

Before you recharge the battery or take the next flight,

wait 10-15 minutes to let the battery cool down.

1. Move the controller/charger’s power/charge switch to ON (pic.1). 2. Set the ON/OFF switch of the helicopter to ON (pic.2). 3. Place the helicopter on the

ground with its’ tail pointing toward you and the head facing away (pic.3). 4. Before take-off, the helicopter engine must be initiated to operate. To do this, pull the

throttle stick all the way down B, then slowly push it forward A. This will start the engine and the helicopter will be ready to fly (pic.4).

3. TRIMMING YOUR HELICOPTER

STEP ONE

Gently push the throttle up to raise your helicopter about 1.5 metres above the ground.

STEP TWO

If the helicopter spirals to the

right or keeps turning right,

push the Left/Right trim

wheel up until the helicopter

flies straight.

Spirals right Keeps turning right

STEP THREE

If the helicopter spirals to the

left or keeps turning left, push

the Left/Right trim wheel

down until the helicopter

flies straight.

Spirals left Keeps turning left

Location – Fly in a wide-open room (ideally over 3 m wide x 5 m long x 2.5 m high), away from breakable items. Avoid flying near vents and/or fans, as these

may overpower the Jackal™ and make it difficult to control. NOTE: Always get permission to fly your Jackal™ indoors.

CAUTION: Never fly near your face. Keep rotor away from your fingers, hair, eyes and other body parts. Always lift off from a flat surface. Never hold the

flying heli in your hand when lifting off. DO NOT launch heli near people or animals. Stay away from obstacles and electrical hazards.

4. FLIGHT CONTROL (After Trimming)

- Put the helicopter on a smooth surface. An uneven floor surface will affect its ability to lift off.

- Slowly increase the throttle.

- DO NOT look at the controller/charger but focus on the helicopter.

- As soon as the helicopter leaves the ground, reduce the throttle slightly. Adjust the throttle as necessary to maintain altitude. In the worst case scenario,

the helicopter will drop back to the floor, but that is better than crashing against the ceiling.

- VERY gently add throttle if the helicopter goes down.

- VERY gently reduce throttle if helicopter goes up.

- For turning, give short and small inputs (LEFT/RIGHT) to the direction stick. (Most beginners will easily over control the helicopter)

- For going forward/backward, give short and small inputs (FORWARD/BACKWARD) to the direction stick.

Up or Down Hovering

From steady flight, slowly pushing

the throttle stick upwards will make

the helicopter fly higher. To make it

fly lower, just release the stick a

little. Smooth flying takes only small

changes in the sticks position.

Left or Right Turns

Hold the helicopter steady in the air.

Push the direction stick left to turn

left or right to turn right. Initially you

may have to apply a little forward or

backward control to achieve this.

Forward or Backward Flight

Hold the helicopter steady in the air.

Push the direction stick upward to make

the helicopter fly forward or pull the

direction stick downward to make the

helicopter fly backward. Initially you may

have to apply a little left or right control

to achieve this.

Flies Everywhere Easily

Hold the helicopter steady in the air.

Push/pull the direction stick a little

up/down and hold it to make the

helicopter fly forward/backward, then just

give short and small inputs to move the

direction stick left or right, the helicopter

will turn left or right and fly everywhere.

- Read the instruction manual before playing with your helicopter.

- This product is designed to be used only indoors.

- Fly the helicopter only in open areas and keep clear of obstacles.

- Make sure you and other people keep 1-2 metres away from the helicopter

while flying.

- Always keep your helicopter in view to prevent it from landing or crashing near

your head, your body or on other people.

- Never disassemble or attempt to modify the helicopter. It may cause damage

to the helicopter.

- Never put your hands or face near the rotating parts of the helicopter as you

take the risk of being injured. Operate this product in a standing position

which will allow you to quickly get out of the way if necessary.

- Always place the helicopter and the controller/charger in the “OFF” position

when not flying.

- Never allow young children to use this product without adult supervision.

- Never use parts that are damaged or have had their shape altered in this

product to ensure safe usage.

- For controlling the sticks on the controller/charger, try not to push the sticks

immediately to the extreme position. It should be like steering a bicycle rather

than pressing computer game sticks.

- For the novice pilot (after the trimming procedure is completed), it is highly

recommended to focus exclusively on learning to control the throttle stick first.

If the helicopter turns around by itself there is no need to keep it straight.

For the first flight, it is important to learn to keep the helicopter at a constant

altitude of around 1.5 metres with small inputs on the throttle stick. Once the

pilot masters this, he may start learning to take control with the direction stick.

- Always move the controller/chargers’s throttle stick to the down position

after a crash.

- Do not operate the helicopter under direct bright light or it will affect the

control system of your helicopter.

- Do not cover the lens of the controller/charger as it will block the IR signal.

- Do not stick any other label onto the helicopter as it will affect receiving of

the IR signal.

- Two helicopters on the same radio band cannot be flown together.

POWERC POWER

TROUBLESHOOTING

Blades won’t turn.

Helicopter is not reacting to the

controller/charger.

Helicopter suddenly stops and drops

while flying.

Helicopter is losing control.

PROBLEM

ON/OFF switch is set to OFF.

Weak battery.

Helicopter may not be turned on.

Weak power.

Helicopter may be to far away from

controller/charger.

Another infrared (IR) device using the same

channel may be close by.

Bright lights may be affecting the IR control.

CAUSE

Set switch to ON.

Re-charge the helicopter using the charging port and/or

replace the batteries in the controller/charger.

Turn helicopter on.

Re-charge the helicopter using the charging port and/or

replace the batteries in the controller/charger.

Move closer to the helicopter with the controller/charger.

Avoid these if possible, or choose another place to

operate the helicopter.

Turn down lights or change flight environment.

Safety Precautions:

- Keep hands, hair and loose clothing away from the rotors when power switch

is turned ON.

- Turn off controller/charger and helicopter when not in use

- Remove battery from controller/charger when not in use.

- Parental guidance is recommended for the flight.

- Keep your helicopter in your sight so that you can supervise it all the time.

- New alkaline batteries are recommended for use in controller/charger to obtain

maximum performance.

- Users should keep strict accordance with the instruction manual while operation

the product.

- Your controller/charger is tailor-made for the Li-Poly rechargeable battery used in

your Jackal™. Do not use it to charge any battery other than that in the helicopter.

NOTE: If normal function of the product is disturbed or interrupted, strong

electro-magnetic interference may be causing the issue. To reset product, turn

it completely off, then turn it back on. If normal operation does not resume,

move the product to another location and try again.

To ensure normal performance, change the batteries, as low batteries may

not allow full function.

BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION:

- Requires 4 x 1.5-V AA alkaline batteries (not included).

- Batteries are small objects.

- Replacement of batteries must be done by adults.

- Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment.

- Promptly remove dead batteries from the toy.

- Dispose of used batteries properly.

- Remove batteries for prolonged storage

- DO NOT incinerate used batteries.

- DO NOT dispose of batteries in fire, as batteries may explode or leak.

- DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (i.e. alkaline/standard).

- DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.

- DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

- DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.

Care and Maintenance:

- Always remove batteries from the toy when it is not being used for a long period of time.

(controller/charger only)

- Wipe the toy gently with a clean damp cloth.

- Keep the toy away from direct heat.

- Do not submerge the toy in water. This can damage the electronic assemblies.

Note:

- Parental guidance is recommended when installing or replacing batteries.

- Under the environment with electrostatic discharge, the toy may

malfunction and require user to reset the toy.

Special Note to Adults:

- Regularly examine for damage to the plug, enclosure and other parts.

In the event of any damage, the toy must not be used with the

controller/charger until the damage has been repaired.

- This toy is not intended for children under 3 years old.

- This toy must only be used with the recommended charger

- Do not try to charge other batteries with controller/charger.

Your Jackal™ is equipped with a Lithium Polymer battery.

SPECIAL LiPO BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS:

- Never charge battery unattended.

- Charge battery in isolated area. Keep away from flammable materials.

- Do not expose to direct sunlight. There is a risk of the batteries exploding,

overheating, or igniting.

- Do not disassemble, modify heat, or short circuit the batteries. Do not place

them in fires or leave them in hot places.

- Do not drop or subject to strong impacts.

- Do not allow the batteries to get wet.

- Only charge the batteries with the specified Spin Master™ battery charger.

- Only use the batteries in the device specified by Spin Master™.

- Carefully read the instruction guide and use the batteries correctly.

- In the unlikely event of leakage or explosion use sand or a chemical fire

extinguisher for the battery.

- Batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly.

PRODUCT BATTERY REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Internal battery is factory installed, product disassembly and battery

removal must be performed by an adult. Do not puncture, cut, tear,

compress or deform product during disassembly. Ensure product is turned

off, then use a screw driver to remove all screws. Separate product body

halves to expose internal electronics. When battery is visible in its entirety

use scissors to cut a single battery wire, immediately wrap the cut wire end

with tape to isolate it, repeat until all battery wires are cut and isolated, and

the battery is free from the rest of the product. Dispose of battery in

accordance with your local battery recycling or disposal laws. NOTE:

Opening of product and/or removal of battery will render product

inoperative and voids manufacturer warranties, dispose of remaining

product components in accordance with local laws.
