SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions carefully and keep
them in a safe place.
• For your safety, this appliance conforms to current
standards and regulations (Low Voltage Directives,
electromagnetic compatibility, substances in
contact with food, environment...).
• Please check that the voltage you are using
corresponds to that indicated on the slow cooker
(alternating current)
• Bearing in mind the different standards in force,
if the slow cooker is used in a country other than
that in which it was purchased, it should be
checked by an approved service centre.
• Your slow cooker is designed for domestic use
only. Any commercial use, inappropriate use
or failure to comply with the instructions, the
manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the
guarantee will not apply. It is not designed for use
in the following cases, which are not covered by
the guarantee:
- in kitchen areas reserved for staff,
- in shops, offices and other professional
environments,
- on farms, by customers in hotels, motels and
other residential accommodation,
- in other types of accommodation such as
Bed-and-Breakfast.
• Do not place the slow cooker close to a source of
heat or in a hot oven as this may cause severe
damage.
• Use on a flat, stable work heat-resistant surface
away from any water spray.
• This slow cooker is not designed to be used
by persons (including children) with reduced
physical , sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
• Always plug the slow cooker into an earthed
socket.
• Do not use an extension lead. You decide to use
an extension lead under your own responsibility,
use only an extension lead which is in good
condition and which is earthed and suitable for
the power of the slow cooker.
• Do not unplug the slow cooker by pulling on the
power cord.
• Do not use the slow cooker if:
- it or its power cord are faulty, the slow cooker has
fallen over and shows visible signs of damage or is
not functioning correctly.
• In these cases, the slow cooker must be sent to
the nearest approved Service Centre to where
you live.
• Never dismantle the slow cooker yourself.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, the customer service centre
or person similarly qualified so as to avoid all risk
of danger.
• Do not touch the hot surfaces on the slow cooker.
Use the buttons. Always use protective oven
gloves.
• To protect yourself from a possible electric shock,
do not immerse the power cord, the electric plugs
or the slow cooker itself in water or in an any
other liquid.
• Unplug the slow cooker when it is not in use and
before cleaning it. Allow it to cool down before
attaching or removing the accessories.
• The use of accessories not recommended by Tefal
may cause injury and damage.
• Do not use the slow cooker outside.
• Do not let the power cord run along a table or
work surface and do not allow it to come into
contact with hot surfaces.
• Never put the slow cooker on or near to a gas
burner, electric hot plate or in a hot oven.
• Be extremely careful when moving the slow
cooker when it contains hot oil or other hot liquids.
• Always connect the power cord to the slow cooker
first, then plug in. Before unplugging make sure
that the slow cooker is switched off.
• Always use the slow cooker with the lid closed, for
the recommended amount of time.
• Follow the recommendations for times and ways
of cooking.
• Do not use the slow cooker’s cooking pot for
storing food.
• Do not reheat food in your slow cooker.
• Do not put the detachable cooking pot, when it
is hot, onto a wooden table, varnished surface
or any other type of delicate surface, which may
burn, mark or melt.
• Do not put the detachable cooking pot in an oven.
• Do not use the cooking pot on an electric hot
plate, gas or induction hob.
• Do not switch on your slow cooker when it is
empty.
• Do not switch on the slow cooker if it is close to
a wall.
• Do not put anything under the slow cooker while
cooking is in process.
• Do not put the cooking pot near to an
inflammable substance or object when it is hot.
• Never cook dry beans and lentils without having
first soaked them in water for about ten hours
beforehand (See instructions on the packaging of
dry beans and lentils).
CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Your slow cooker has been designed to work for
many years. Nevertheless, the day you wish to
replace it, don’t forget to spare a thought for what
you can do to help protect the environment.
The approved Service Centres will take back your
old slow cooker and dispose of the appliance in
accordance with environmental regulations.
