1. GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Perform the following steps in order to install the Contact Download Application for the
Nokia 810 car phone, the Nokia 610 car kit phone or Nokia 616 car kit:
1. Download the application from www.nokia.com to your mobile phone.
• There are different versions of the application, running on different phones.
Please select the application matching your mobile phone.
• There are different ways to download the application to the mobile phone. Usually
the application is first downloaded to a PC, then to the mobile phone. Depending
on the capabilities of the mobile phone and the PC, use one of the following
methods:
o Bluetooth
o Infrared
o USB
o MMC
Alternatively, the application may be downloaded directly using the mobile
internet.
See Section 2 for more detailed information, and consult the user guide of your
mobile phone and PC.
2. In case you have a Nokia 610 or Nokia 810, remove previous pairings of your mobile
phone with the car kit phone or car phone. This is not necessary with the Nokia 616
car kit.
3. Install the Contact Download application on your mobile phone. The application is
now available in the inbox of your mobile. Store it on your mobile phone, and the
installation starts automatically. Read and appropriately answer all questions.
4. Start the application

5. In some versions, you are asked if you want the application to start every time the
phone is switched on.
6. If Bluetooth is switched off, confirm the question to switch Bluetooth on.
7. To pair your mobile phone with the Nokia 810 car phone, enable Bluetooth
technology on your mobile phone, and follow the instructions in the user guide of the
Nokia car product.

For downloading the contacts from your mobile phone to your car kit or car phone please
follow the instructions in the user guide of the car kit or car phone.

consult the relevant user guides
2. DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION TO THE MOBILE PHONE
Please select a method that fits the capabilities of your mobile phone and PC.

2.1 TRANSFER USING BLUETOOTH
The transfer procedure depends on the Bluetooth stack installed on your PC. Example:
1. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
2. Select File Transfer Service.

3. Connect the PC to your mobile phone.
4. Select the application, and transfer it to the mobile phone. This may be a
drag-and-drop operation.
Alternatively, you may use PC Suite to install the application.
2.2 TRANSFER USING INFRARED
1. Start the infrared connection on your mobile phone.
2. Place the mobile phone to the infrared port of the PC.
3. Click on the infrared icon on the PC desktop when the devices are connected.
4. Search the SIS file on the PC, select it, and press Send to start the download.
Alternatively, you may use PC Suite to install the application.
2.3 TRANSFER USING USB
1.
Connect the phone with the USB cable (DKU-2) to the USB port of your PC.
2.
Start the PC Suite, and make sure that USB connection is enabled.
3. Click on Install Application; then select the contact download application.
4.
To continue the installation, follow the dialogue on your mobile phone.
2.4 TRANSFER USING MMC
1. Insert the MMC card into the appropriate reader slot in your PC.

2. Copy the application to the MMC.
3. Insert the MMC into the mobile phone, and start the phone.
4. Open the File Manager and the download application file. To install the application,
follow the dialogue on the phone user interface.

5. Start the application from the menu. (Note: when restarting the phone, the application
will restart automatically.)
2.5 DOWNLOAD USING THE MOBILE INTERNET
1. Make sure that Internet access is configured for your mobile phone.
2. Connect to the SW download page for the Nokia 610, Nokia 616, and Nokia 810 on
www.nokia.com
.
3. Download the application matching your mobile phone.
4. Read and accept the disclaimer.
5. To install the application, follow the dialog.
