IMPORTANT
Installer and Users please note:
These instructions should be read carefully and left with the user of the
product for future reference.
BEFORE USE
You must inspect the product including its cable and plug for any signs of
damage. If the product is damaged, DO NOT use it, and contact your supplier
immediately.
INSTALLATION
If permanently installed, the luminaire must be installed by a competent
elecrician in accordance with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations.
The P647UA is designed to be mounted in a 19" rack, but may be used free-
standing if required.
Either plug the lead into a 13 A socket, or remove the 13 A plug fitted, and
wire directly to a fused spur or, if mounted in a rack, connect to a power
distrubution unit with the rack.
The wires are colour-coded as follows:
Brown = Live (phase)
Blue = Neutral
Green/Yellow = Earth
The P647UA must be earthed for safe and reliable operation.
In strong signal areas, attach the teolescopic antenna to the F-socket on the
rear panel, and extend the antenna. In lower signal areas, or if it is not
convenient to use the telescopic antenna, connect either an FM or a DAB
antenna to the F socket on the rear panel. Note that if the wrong type of
antenna is used, then reception will be poor.
Connect a lead from the RCA phono sockets on the rear panel to the input of a
power amplifier or mixer. Connect the the line level input of the mixer or
amplifier. Do not use the microphone input, or the turntable input (often
labelled “Phono”)

PRODUCT SAFETY
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and by
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision and
instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
Do not place on carpet or other soft surfaces.
For indoor use only.
Do not use in bathrooms, or in wet or damp locations.
Do not place the mains lead beneath a carpet or rug.
Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of a table.
Arrange the cable so that it cannot cause a trip hazard.
PAT TESTING
When used in a workplace, this product must be safety-tested yearly by a
qualified electrician (PAT Tested) in order to comply with the Electricity at Work
Regulations.
If hired out, it must be PAT tested prior to each hire.
We recommend that it is PAT tested regularly when used in a domestic
environment.
GENERAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Domestic wiring must be tested periodically by a qualified electrician at least
once every 10 years or at every change of occupancy.
For office and retail premises, and buildings such as village halls, the wiring
must be inspected at least once every 5 years.
It is recommended that all building be fitted with smoke alarms (it is mandatory
for new buildings). Ionisation-type smoke alarms are recommended for
buildings where theatrical fog effects are to be used.

OPERATION
When first switched on the P647UA will be in DAB mode, Press the MODE
switch if FM is required.
DAB OPERATION
When switched on for the first time in a new location, press the AUTO˜SCAN
button. This will search for all the available stations: if no signal can be found
"No Signal" will be shown in the display.
Press the UP and DOWN buttons to select the station required. This can also
be done by rotation the TUNE knob.
To store the station, press and hold one of the M buttons, until the displ;ay
shows “PRESET * STORED”. To store presets M6 to M10, press the SHIFT
button before pressing the M button.
Further information on the station can be obtained by pressing the
MENU/INFO button.
If the tuner is currently in the FM mode, then DAB radio can be selected by
pressing the MODE button.
FM OPERATION
Either: Rotate the TUNE knob to select the frequency required,
OR: Press the UP and DOWN buttons to change the frequency in 50 kHz
steps.
OR: Press the AUTO-SCAN button to scan for the next strong signal.
To store the station, press and hold one of the M buttons, until the displ;ay
shows “PRESET * STORED”. To store presets M6 to M10, press the SHIFT
button before pressing the M button.
Further information on the station can be obtained by pressing the
MENU/INFO button.
If the tuner is currently in the DAB mode, then FM radio can be selected by
pressing the MODE button.
REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control handset has all the same controls as the front panel with
the exception of the rotary tuning control.

MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, turn the appliance off, and disconnect from the mains supply. The
appliance may then be cleaned using a damp cloth with a drop of washing-up liquid to
remove any dust or dirt from the case. Do no use stronger detergents or solvents as
these may damage the surface finish.
If the mains lead is damaged, replace it by a standad IEC lead.. If the mains plug needs
to be replaced, proceed as follows:
Connect the brown wire to the terminal
labelled "L".
Connect the blue wire to the terminal
labelled "N".
Connect the green/yellow wire to the
terminal labelled with the earth symbol
or "E".
Make sure that the cord-grip is
positioned correctly (over the outer
sheath of the cable) and it fully
tightened.
If the plug is fitted with a 13 A fuse,
replace it by a 5 A fuse.

DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING
You must not dispose of this appliance with domestic household waste.
Most local authorities have specific collection system for appliances and
disposal is free of charge to the end-user.
When replacing an existing appliance with a similar new appliance your retailer
may take the old appliance for disposal.

SERVICE WARRANTY
Elecrovision guarantees the product free from defects in materials and
workmanship for a period of one year.
Should this luminaire be operated under conditions other than those
recommended, at voltages other than the voltage indicated on the luminaire, or
any attempts made to service or modify the luminaire, then the warranty will
be rendered void.
The product you buy may sometimes differ slightly from illustrations. This
warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.
