ASSEMBLY
• Remove the battery compartment
cover (7) and insert the Li-
ion battery (17) into t
he battery compartment,ensuringthe metal
plates on the battery align with themetal connectors in the battery
compartment.
• Insert the SD card (not supplied) into the SD card slot ensuring it clicks into place.
To remove,press the SD card which will then partiallyeject,allowing it to be
removed by hand. If the SD card is not installed,the displ
ay screen will show“No
Card”. Always ensure the SC card is fitted correctly. Incorrect fitting may
damage the device and/or the SD
card.We recommend usinga class 4 SD card or
higher.
• Attach the camera to the windscreen mount (19) by screwing the camera into the
mount hole (5) and tighten by turningthe wheel anti-clockwise.
• To adjust the angle of the windscreen mount,turn either of the knobs a
nti-
clockwise to loosen,adjust and turn clockwise to secure.The suction cup may
require light moistening to give improved suction to the windscreen.
CHARGING
• To recharge the battery,connect the Car Camera t
o a computer or laptop using
the USB cable or to the 12V socket in your vehicle using the 12V Car Charger.
• Charge fully for 12 hours the first three times the battery is charged. This will
maximise the capacity of the battery.
INSTALLATION
• It is vitally important that the CarCamera is installed in the correct position.The
Car Camera (including its mount & suction cup) should not intrude into the light
and dark shaded areas (showing the wiper clearance zoneson the windscreen)
in
the diagram opposite by more than 1cm (dark) or 4cm (light).This is a legal
requirement under the RoadTrafficAct 1988.Incorrectly positioned installation
may contravene this act and may constitute Dangerous Driving.
• Please note these shaded areas vary in size between vehicle types. If in any
doubt as to the legality of the use of this item in your particular vehicle,
please contact your vehicle manufacturer.
OPERATION
• The Car Camera can either be operated using the
charged Li-ion battery
supplied or by connecting the in-car charger to the 12V socket in your
vehicle. Insert a 4-32GB SD/MMC card into the SD/MMC card slot (3).
• The Car Camera LCD screen must not be visible to the driver whilst the
vehicle is being driven.Always ensure the Car Camera LCD screen is folded
away when driving.
Please read carefully before use and retain for future reference.

RECORDING
• The Car Camera digital video recorder is activated by pressing the ON/OFF switch (10) when the unit is running from the Li-ion battery. When the unit is running
from the 12V socket it will begin recording automatically when the car engine is started.
• Recording can be stopped at anytime by pressing the record/capture/enter button (11) or by turning off theengine when running from the 12V socket.
• When recording with the motion detect function enabled,once moti
on has been detected the Car Camera will record for the recording time selected (see settings).
It will then stop recording automaticallyif no motion is detected at the end of theselected recording time period,or continue recording if motion is still being
detected.
RECORDING GUIDE
The number of photos or videos that can betaken varies according to the device settings, the subject and the SD card used. However, please refer to below guide for
an approximation:

CAMERA MODE
• To select camera mode, switch the Car Camera on,fold down the LCD screen (12) and press the mode select button (16) once.
To take a p
hoto in this mode,press the record/capture/enter button (11).
VIEWING PHOTOS & RECORDINGS
• Turn on the Car Camera using the ON/OFF switch (10) andpress the Mode select button (16) twice to enter Preview Mode.
• Photos & recordings are filed by datecreated.Cycle through the folders of recorded material by pressing theUp (15) and Down (14) buttons.
• To view photos & recordings made onthe chosen date, press the record/capture/enter button (11) once to enter thefolder a
nd then select the chosen file using the
Up (15) and Down (14) buttons and press the record/capture/enter button (11)again to view/play.
• DO NOTVIEW RECORDINGS OR PHOTOSWHILST DRIVINGYOURVEHICLE. This contravenesThe RoadVehicles(Construction and Use) Regulations 1986.
UPLOADING PHOTOS & RECORDINGS
• Connect the USB cable (18) to your computer and to the USB slot (1) on the Car Camera.
The computer should detect the Car Camera automatically.
• Photos & recording
s are filed by date created in theDVR index.
• Upload and save the photos & recordings to your computer.
DELETING PHOTOS & RECORDINGS
• To delete a photo or recording,press the Menu button (13),select the file you wish to delete using the Up (15) and Down (14)buttons and then press the
record/capture/enter button (11) to delete.
Photo Settings
To alter the photo settings, press themode button to enter photo mode, then
press the menu button. The following settings can be amended:

Playback Settings
To alter the playback settings,press the mode button three times to enter
playback mode, then press the menu button. Note:There must be files saved on
the SD Card to access these settings.
Lock Lock/Unlock one Protects/unprotects a single file.
Lock a
ll Protects all files.
Unlock all Unprotects all files.
Delete One Deletes a single file.
All Deletes all files.
Slide Show Start Displays saved images in turn.
Voice Memo Add Adds a voice memo
Delete Del
etes a voice memo
Start-up Set Sets a photo as the Start-up image.
Image Cancel Cancel a photo from being the Start-
up image.
SETTINGS
In all menu screens (except where otherwise detailed):
Press the enter button (11) to
bring up the options. Use the up (15) or down
(14) keys to cycle between the options. Press the enter button (11) again to
confirm the desired option. Press the menu key (13) to go back to the previous
screen at any time.

Loop Rec ON The Car Camera will continue recording once the
pre-determined video duration has elapsed and the
recording has been stored.
OFF The Car Camera will record for the pre-determined
duration only.
LoopTime 2min The video will record for 2mins at a time before
saving each 2min clip.
