PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Can opener will not turn can

• Drive gear is worn

• Drive gear needs cleaning

• Arbor hole in slide bar or arbor is

worn allowing gear to move out

of contact with the can bead

• If foods gets stuck to the oven

rack do not use metal utensils.

Gently remove the food using

wooden or heat resistant utensils

instead.

Oven Toaster won't turn on

• Check if the oven is plugged in

• Check to see if the indicator light

is on

• If it still does not turn on, your

problem most likely lies in the

power connection

• If the light is off while the device

is plugged in, then the power unit

is most likely faulty and may need

repair or replacement

One of the functions does not work

• Check to see if knob is intact

• Check to see if the internal

temperature actually matches to

the control knob temperature

• See if both heating elements are

working

• The knob might be turning but

not fully registering to each of the

settings. Try to feel for a definite

click when changing settings

• If the temperature settings are

not consistent with the factory

default, the oven might have a

problem with the thermostat

• If only one of the heating

elements turns on, no matter the

setting, then a replacement

element will probably be needed

Food isn't being cooked to the

proper extent

• Timer isn't functioning properly

• Optimal temperature isn't being

attained

• While the heating elements might

be working well, if the timer isn't

synchronized, your food will not

turn out the same. An additional

problem could be that the switch

is malfunctioning.

• For this problem either the

heating elements need to be

replaced or the thermostat needs

to be calibrated.

Burning odor

• When the oven toaster is

operating for the first time, there

may be a slight burning odor, as

the heating elements warm up.

This represents no danger to the

user and does not indicate a

defect in the appliance.

• The crumb tray may be overfilled

• Allow the oven toaster to heat up

until the odor clears. It is

advisable to first operate the

oven toaster without placing

bread in the slot.

• Unplug it and check the crumb

tray and crumbs over a trash can.
