This unitized load consisted of a corrugated doublewall HSC, sealed with
clear packing tape along the top flaps, positioned over the product
resting on a honeycomb tray. This package was strapped closed, twice
in the width orientation. The package was not secured to the pallet and
additional poly banding was applied, twice in the pallet length, to conduct
the testing. No pre-existing external damage was observed to the
package or the pallet prior to testing.
Secondary shipping pallet, corrugated overpack and expanded polystyrene (EPS)
foam panels were removed from the test package prior to testing. Two additional
poly bands were applied to restrain the package to the pallet.

Test Report
Test Status Update
The package was returned to the customer for a functional assessment
of the product, which was confirmed successful and communicated on
November 28, 2016. Overall, this package is judged to adequately
protect the product during palletized LTL Freight shipment. As a result
this report test status has been changed from Pending to a Pass.
Banding in both the pallet length and width orientations are also
recommended to ensure package containment during transit.
The customer is recommended to use fiber angleboards beneath the poly
banding to support the corrugated package edge and provide a greater
strapping force without compromising the sales package.

Description of Test
Package and Testing
Conducted
This unitized package was subjected to the International Safe Transit
Association (ISTA) 3B procedure for palletized LTL Freight. The
procedure included stability, rough handling and impact testing, random
vibration with a topload, pallet marshalling and trailer load / unload
simulations. During testing the package shifted on the pallet deck and
one package band was dislodged.
After all testing was completed the product was unpackaged and post-
inspected. The corrugated package top perimeter edges were cut by the
poly banding as the package shifted on the pallet. The product was
surrounded by honeycomb panels and covered by a poly bag. Internally
there was no observed damage to the product exterior and no damage to
the internal wooden shelves. This unit was not energized to confirm its
functionality.
Post Inspection & Testing
Results
The product and accessories appeared intact and undamaged. However
due to the electrical nature of the product, this package was returned to
the customer for a functional evaluation. This test report is currently
considered as pending. The customer is requested to evaluate the
product upon its return and confirm it is functional and undamaged. The
customer should advise, within 30 days, the functionality of the product
and the test report can be amended to a pass / fail determination. This
functional assessment of the product is a component of the packaging
performance.
