Package and Testing
Conducted
This unitized package was subjected to the International Safe Transit
Association (ISTA) 3B procedure for palletized LTL Freight. The
procedure included stability, rough handling and impact testing, random
vibration with a topload, pallet marshalling and trailer load / unload
simulations. During testing the package shifted on the pallet deck and
one package band was dislodged.
After all testing was completed the product was unpackaged and post-
inspected. The corrugated package top perimeter edges were cut by the
poly banding as the package shifted on the pallet. The product was
surrounded by honeycomb panels and covered by a poly bag. Internally
there was no observed damage to the product exterior and no damage to
the internal wooden shelves. This unit was not energized to confirm its
functionality.
