2. About the Product
This product is a 1-port a PCI Express bus-compliant Ethernet Network Card(LAN Board) which
conforms to IEEE802.3ab (1000BASE-T) /IEEE802.3u (100BASE-TX) /IEEE802.3 (10BASE-T) standard.
This product supports a Low-Profile size slot and if replaced with the supplied bracket, supports a
standard size slot, too.
Windows/Linux driver is supported with this product.

This document provides safety information using the following symbols to prevent accidents
resulting in injury or death and the destruction of equipment and resources.
Understand the meanings of these labels to operate the equipment safely.

2. Handling Precautions
WARNING
Do not modify the product.
Do not use the product in locations exposed to a flammable or corrosive gas. It may cause
explosion, fire, electrical shock, or malfunction.
If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection
provided by the equipment may be impaired.
This product is not intended for use in aerospace, space, nuclear power, medical equipment,
or other applications that require a very high level of reliability. Do not use the product in
such applications.
If using this product in applications where safety is critical such as in railways, automotive, or
disaster prevention or security systems, please contact your retailer.
CAUTION
Do not use or store the product in a location exposed to extremely high or low temperature
or susceptible to a rapid temperature changes.
Example: - Exposure to direct sun - In the vicinity of a heat source
Do not use the product in extremely humid or dusty locations. It is extremely dangerous to
use this product with its interior penetrated by water or any other fluid or conductive dust.
Avoid using or storing the product in locations subject to shock or vibration that exceeds
range of specification.
When transporting the product, take suitable measures to avoid applying shock or vibration
directly to the product.
Impact resistance: 15G (11ms) below.
Avoid installing in the place where ventilation of the product may compromise. Insufficient
aeration could heat up the product and lead to malfunctions or damages.
The link speed value (e.g., 1000Mbps) of the transmission rate used in the Manual (this
document) is the theoretical maximum value of the Ethernet standard and do not indicate the
actual data transmission speed.
The frame loss could occur depending on the connection destination or installed environment

Do not use or store the equipment in a place subject to direct sunlight or near a heating
device, such as a stove. And do not use or store the product near equipment generating a
strong magnetic field or radio waves. They may cause the malfunction, heat generation,
fault, or damage.
Do not use the product in the vicinity of devices that generate strong magnetic force or noise.
Such products will cause the product to malfunction (stop, reboot).
Do not use or store the product in the presence of chemicals.
Do not touch this product's metal plated terminals (edge connector) with your hands.
Otherwise, this product may malfunction, overheat, or cause a failure. If the terminals are
touched by someone's hands, clean the terminals with industrial alcohol.
When placing importance on line-noise resistance, use shielded cables to connect to periphery
devices.
As this product contains components that are designed to operate at high temperature, please
do not touch this product when it is in use.
Do not install this product to the expansion slot and do not plug or unplug the cables which
are connected to this product while the PC or expansion unit is still turned on. Otherwise, this
product may malfunction, overheat, or cause a failure. Be sure that the personal computer
power is turned off.
Do not touch the external connector when the power is on. Otherwise, this may malfunction,
cause a failure due to static electricity.
When connecting cables, first check the shapes of connectors, and then insert them in the
correct orientation. After they are connected, do not put too much load on the connected part.
Doing so may result in poor contact or damage to this product and the connected part.
Make sure that your PC or expansion unit can supply ample power to all the products installed.
Insufficiently energized products could malfunction, overheat, or cause a failure.
Do not touch the product or connectors with a wet hand to avoid electric shock.
The specifications of the product are subject to change without notice for enhancement and
quality improvement. Even when using the product continuously, be sure to read the manual
in the CONTEC's website and understand the contents.
Do not modify the product. CONTEC will bear no responsibility for any problems, etc.,
resulting from modifying this product.
When the product is used in a place that is affected by overcurrent or overvoltage (lightning
surge), select appropriate surge protection device for all the route (Power line, signal line,
earth, etc.). Consult with the specialist regarding selecting, purchasing, and setting the surge

1. What is Setup?
Setup means a series of steps to take before the product can be used.
Different steps are required for driver software and hardware.
The setup procedure varies with the OS or driver software used.
This section shows how to install the driver software.
Install the device driver before connecting this product to a PC.
1. Driver Software Installation(Windows)
1 Download the Drive from CONTEC website.(Windows)
2 Expand the downloaded file.
3 Execute the installer in the expanded folder.

2. Driver Software Installation(Linux)
1 Download the Drive from CONTEC website. (Linux)
2 Expand the downloaded file.
3 Execute the installer in the expanded folder.

4 Move to the src directory in the expanded directory.
cd igb-<x.x.x>.tar.gz/src
Use the following commands to install the compile environment.

1. Connect the RedHat Enterprise Linux 9.1 installation media to the PC.
2. Use the lsblk command to check where the installation media is mounted.

3. Use a text editor to create and edit the following file.

3. Replacing the Bracket
This board is shipped with a Low Profile size bracket mounted. To plug the board into a standard size
slot, replace the bracket with the bundled standard size bracket. The replacing method is as follows :
