GV-PA301 PoE Adapter
GV-PA301 is a Gigabit Power over Ethernet (PoE) adapter. It fully complies with IEEE 802.3
af/at standard. It can work with all IEEE 802.af/at PoE compliant PD (Powered Device) and
PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) or other equivalent products with a maximum power
output of 30 W over a single Ethernet cable. Adopting the PoE adapter enables you to mount
an IP device anywhere in a building where power outlets are not available.

Installation Notice
This part describes how to install your machine and make connections to it. Please follow the
following instructions in avoid of incorrect installation causing device damage and security
threat.
⚫ Before cleaning the machine, unplug the power plug of the machine first. Do not clean the
machine with wet cloth or liquid;
⚫ Do not place the machine near water or any damp area. Prevent water or moisture from
entering the machine chassis;
⚫ Do not place the machine on an unstable case or desk. The machine might be damaged
severely in case of a fall;

⚫ Ensure proper ventilation of the equipment room and keep the ventilation vents of the
machine free of obstruction;
⚫ Make sure that the operating voltage is the same one labeled on the machine;
⚫ Do not open the chassis while the switch is operating or when electrical hazards are
present to avoid electrical shocks.
Desktop Installation
Install the adapter on a desktop. Allow adequate space for ventilation between the device
and the objects around it.
Wall Installation
Secure the machine with screws as indicated in the figure below.
Note: The appliance inlet is served as disconnect device. The socket‐outlet shall be
installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Connections
Two Ethernet cables are required for the connection.
1. Connect one end of the first Ethernet cable into the IN port on GV-PA301, and the other
end to the switch connecting to the computer which will be used to access the IP device.
2. Connect one end of the second Ethernet cable into the OUT port on GV-PA301, and the
other end to the IP device.
3. Connect one end of the supplied AC Power Adapter to the AC input on GV-PA301.
4. Connect the other end of the supplied AC Power Adapter to the power outlet. The PoE
LED on the front panel of GV-PA301 turns green now.
