Maintenance
Place the unit on a level surface away from sources of direct sunlight
or
excessive heat.
Protect your furniture when placing your unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth
or
other protective material should be placed between
it
and the furnrture.
Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning
agents, such as Benzene, thinner
or
similar materials can damage the surface
of
the unit.

ensure
your personal
safety.
However,
improper
use
can
resutt
in
potential electrical shock or

hazards.
Please read

safety and operating instructions carefully before installation and use, and keep
these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note

warnings listed

instructions and on the unit.

Water
and
Moisture
-The unrt should not
be
used near water. For example: near a
bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool
or
in
a wet basement.

-The
unit should
be
srtuated so that its location
or
position does not interfere
with

proper ventilation. For example, it should not
be
situated on a bed, sofa, rug

similar surface that may block ventilation openings. Also,

cabinet, which rnay impede the flow of air through the
ventilation openings.

Heat
-The
unrt
should be situated away

heat sources such as radiators, heat registers,

Power

-The unit should be connected to a power supply only
of
the type
described
in
the operating instructions
or
as marked on the appliance.

Power-Cable
Protection
-Power supply cables should
be
routed so that they are not
likely
to
be
walked on
or
pinched by items placed upon
or
against them.
It
is always best
to
have a clear area from where the cable exits the unit
to
where
it
is
plugged into
an
AC
socket.

Cleaning
-The unit should be cleaned only as recommended. See the Maintenance
section
of
this manual for cleaning instructions.

Objects
and
Liquid
Entry
-Care should
be
taken so that objects
do
not
fall
and liquids
are not spilled into any openings
or
vents located on the product.

Attachments
-Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer.

Lightning
and
Power
Surge
Protection
-Unplug the unit from the wall socket and
disconnect the antenna or cable system during a

ghtning storm or when

left unattended
and unused for long periocs of time.
This
will
prevent damage
to
the procuct due
to
lightning
and power-line surges.

-Do not overload wall sockets, extension cords,

-The unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel

plug has been damaged.

liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.

the unit has been exposed

the unit exhibits a marked change in performance
or
does not operate normally.

Periods
of
Nonuse
-
If
the unrt is to be left unused for
an
extended perioc of time, such
as
a month
or
longer,
the power cable should be unplugged from the
unrt
to prevent damage
or
corrosion.

Information
iHome Products, a division
of
SDI
Technologies Inc. (hereafter referred
to
as
SDI),
warrants this
product
to
be
free from defects
in
workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions,
for a period
of
one
(1)
year from the date
of
original purchase.
Should this procuct
fail
to
function
in
a satisfactory manner,
rt
is
best to first return
it
to
the store
where
it
was originally purchased. Should this
fail
to resolve the matter and service still be required
by
reason
of
any
defect or malfunction during the warranty perioc,
SDI
will
repair
or;
at
rts
discretion,
replace this product without charge. This decision
is
subject
to
verification
of
the defect or
malfunctkm upon deliv,.Y of this product to the Factory Service Center authorized by
SD
I Customer
Servce. The product
must
include
proof of purchase, induding date of
purchase.
An
out-of-warranly
fee for service will be charged for units that are received without proof of purchase.
Before returning this product for service, please first replace the batteries
(if
applicable) with fresh
ones, as exhausted
or
defective batteries are the most common cause
of
problems encountered.

service is still required:
1.

Customer Service at 1-800-288-2792 for Return Authorization and for the address
of
the Factory Service Center.
2.
Remove the batteries
(if
applicable) and
pack
the unit
in
a well padded, heavy corrugated box.
SDI
is
not responsible for damage that occurs during shipping to the Factory Service Center.
3.
Enclose a photocopy of your sales receipt, credit card statement,
or
other proof
of
the date
of purchase, if within the warranty period. Also include your name and address information, a
brief description for why the unit is being returned, and the return authorization number.
No
unit
can be processed without a return authorization number.
4.
Write the return authorization number on the side
of
the shipping package and send the unit
prepaid and insured
to
the Factory Service Center address authorzed by
SDI
Customer Service.

Using
Bluetooth
with
the
iBT88
Plug one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the speaker
out
jack
on
the Right Speaker and the other end into the speaker in
jack
on
the Left Speaker.
Slide the Off/Biuetooth/Aux Switch
(off

on
the Right Speaker
to the Bluetooth position ( * ). The light will flash blue
as
the speaker
attempts to auto-link with the last previously linked unit
in
range
(30 feet). If no device
is
found within
10
seconds, the light will flash
blue
and
red
to indicate pairing attempt.
Place your audio device
in
Bluetooth mode (often found
in
the
device's Settings or Tools menu) and make it "discoverable". "iHome
iBT88" should appear
on
your device. If "Not Paired, "Not
Connected" or similar message appears, select "iHome iBT88" to
connect.
Once paired, the light will glow solid blue and a confirmation beep
will sound.
If
pairing
is
not successful, turn the power
OFF
on
the
Right Speaker and repeat pairing procedure.
To
listen to Bluetooth audio, make sure the Right Speaker
is
in
Bluetooth mode
(*)and
the Left Speaker
is
connected.
Control Bluetooth audio from your device.
Remember to turn off the speaker and your device after listening.
NOTE: When
unit
is
charging, the blue
light
will
appear magenta.
Using
the
iBT88
with
Aux
Devices
Plug one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the speaker
out
jack
on
the Right Speaker
and
the other end into the speaker
in
jack
on
the Left Speaker.
Connect the stereo 3.5mm audio plug
on
the combination cable to
the headphone jack or line-out of any audio device and connect the
micro-USB plug into the
charging

the Right
Speaker.
Slide the Off/Biuetooth/Aux Switch

Speaker to the

position. The blue power light will come
on

-Press play
on
your audio device
and
adjust its volume to listen to

Charging
the
iBT88
The iBT88
is
powered by a rechargeable battery
in
the Right Speaker.
When the light flashes
red
, or if you start to notice sound distortion at
higher volumes, it's time
to
recharge the battery.
Connect a micro-USB plug to the input jack
on
the Right Speaker.
Connect the larger USB plug to a powered USB port, such
as
that
on
a computer. The light
on
the speaker will turn to solid
red
while
charging
and
turn off when fully charged.
Note:
you
can
continue
to
listen
to
the speakers
while
the
Right
Speaker
is
charging.
The rechargeable battery in
your
speaker can
only
be replaced
by
iHome
Consumer
Repair Department.

BEFORE YOU START
Your
Bluetooth
device
(cellphone,
MP3
player,
computer
,
etc.)
must
support
the
A2DP
Bluetooth
profile
(commonly
known
as
stereo
audio
profile)
to
work
with
the
iHome
iBT88
.
Many
of
the
latest mobile phones
and
PCs
with built-in Bluetooth functionality will support this profile. For
accurate information about your product,
please
refer
to
your
Bluetooth
device's
user
manual
for
details
on
the
Bluetooth
profiles
it
supports
and
on
how
to
set
the
device's
Bluetooth
pairing/searching/setup
mode.
ABOUT
PAIRING
Pairing
is
the
term
used
when
wirelessly
connecting
two
Bluetooth
devices
for
the
first
time.
This
allows
the
devices
to
"see"
each
other
and
creates
a
unique
lasting
connection
between
the
specific
devices.
PAIRING
&
LINKING
YOUR
BLUETOOTH
DEVICE
WITH
THE
iBT88

Make
sure
your
Bluetooth
device
is
fully
charged.
Turn
it
on.

Bluetooth
functionality
on
your
Bluetooth
device.
Typically,
Bluetooth

controls
are
found
on
the
device's
tools
or
settings
menu
(see
your
user
manual).
Turn
on
Bluetooth
connectivity
and
make
your
device
"discoverable".

iBT88"
should
appear
on
your
device's
menu
. If
"Not
Paired",
"Not
Connected"
or
similar
message
appears,
tap
on
the
"iHome
iBT88"
to
begin/complete
pairing.
If
your
device
asks
for
a
password,
enter
1234
on
the
keyboard
of
your
device.
If
no
device
is
paired
within
2
minutes,
the
unit
will
revert
3b
to
auto
link
mode.
To
retry
pairing,
move
the
Off/Biuetooth/Aux
Switch
to
the
OFF
position
(off)
then
move
it
back
to
the
Bluetooth
position(*).
NOTE:
When
unit
is
charging,
the
blue
light
will
appear
magenta.

Once
paired
with
a
device,
the
Indicator
Light
on
the
unit
will
glow
blue
steadily.
There
should
be
an
indication
on
your
device
that
pairing
is
complete.
On
some
devices,
you
must
then
select
"Use
as
Audio
Device"
or
similar
on
the
device's
Bluetooth
menu.
Once
paired,
your
device
should
link
to
the
iBT88
whenever
within
range.

Pairing
remains
intact
when
the
iBT88
and/or
the
Bluetooth
device
is
powered
off
or
is
taken
out
of
link
range
(about
30
feet).
The
iBT88
supports
auto-linking
and
will
automatically
re-establish
an
active
connection
when
your
Bluetooth
device
returns
within
range.

The
next
time
the
iBT88
is
powered
on
it
will
automatically
try
to
re-establish
a
link
with
the
most
recently
linked
Bluetooth
device.
If
your
device
does
not
support
auto-linking
OR
was
not
the
last
linked
to
the
iBT88,
you
must
re-link
manually
by
selecting
iBT88
from
the
Bluetooth
device's
menu
on
your
Bluetooth
device.

When
you
power
ON
the
speaker,
it
will
automatically
link
with
the
previously
paired
Bluetooth
device
as
long
as
that
device
is
still
within
range
(about
30
feet).
So,
to
pair
with
a different
device
you
must
turn
off
the
Bluetooth
capability
of
the
already
paired
device.
